I have connected the spdif to my surround sound receiver and can't get dolby digital. It does not seem to pass through. No audio working on the HDMI input with cable box.
Go into the Settings / Audio and enable "Raw" instead of "PCM". Then DD5.1 and DTS (Core) is present. Dolby True HD and DTS-HD is currently not exported (only the core stream).
This still did not work. I have a google TV box hooked up and it sends DD5.1 no problem so I know it's not the receiver. How about the issue with no sound on the HDMI input? I hooked up my digital cable box to the HDMI Input, the picture is fine but I can hear no sound.
