    This even if it might cause side-effects. A Data Clean or Factory Reset may be needed then.
    My experience with other brands is that it hardly ever requires this and most brands allow it on Android based media players. On other products like BD-players and TV's it mostly is not allowed.

    Going back with Zidoo players is possible using the emergency image only. That process is very critical and a bit complex for many. The alternative is waiting for a next FW to remedy the negative side-effect of that last FW upgrade which may take several months.

    There seems to be a claim from Zidoo that HW revisions made by them aren't all backward compatible. So reverting FW on a brand new box could cause a brick of the player?

    The Emergency FW images are never updated and contain very old FW versions. How are these then supposed to work with later HW modifications?
