All compares I have seen did not produce a significant audio difference with a Sabre Pro. AKM is a bit more expensive and availability is lower hence the market preference for Sabre. Swapping SABRE and AKM chips is not very complex to do. Seen it happening with the Dune HD MAX Vision which now supports either chip using a single FW.
