Re-install ota firmware ....possible ?

Hi,

I know that in case you want to downgrade a firmware you first have to to do an "emergency" install of a Full Image and the install the ota firmware you want.

If I want to re-install an ota firmware, can I just install it over the existing firmware via USB ? Just like updating to a newer one ?
I have installed a 6.4.42 on a Z1000pro... so can I simply just do a new 6.4.42 installation over it via USB ?

I'd assume so, but I don't know - I've never tried.

 

I'm asking because I installed the _G version to install a streaming app via Google Play. The streaming app now says something like:"doesn't work on system with changed firmware". I'd like to try the non _G firmware and install the app per apk.
