Hi all: some body find it can not to access external storage in android6.0 for some apk, there is a setting option to do it. 1. open the android setting 2. enter the "Apps" 3. choice the app which you want to set 4. open the "Permission" to enable the "storage" button.
Is a workaround, but on other Android 6.0 device when an app needs external storage access, a popup appears to grant it (in a not so easy way indeed). Maybe something (a library) is missing? (sorry if I'm out of target...)
Hi, I can not get ZDMC to write to USB HDDs. Same whith Solid Explorer. ZDMC and Solid Explorer have storage permissions, but neither can write to USB HDDs. It seems they only have read permissions. No write permissions. ¿Another solution?
we can't write on HDD at this time ( under android, works for openwrt ) permission problem. hopefully they will fix it soon
because the android 6.0 have changed this permission method, please check this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/33139754/android-6-0-marshmallow-cannot-write-to-sd-card
1. Install LAN Root. 2. Install Xposed installer. 3. Run Xposed installer and install Framework, reboot system. 4. Install XInternalSD. 5. Run Xposed installer and activate XInternalSD module, reboot system. 6. Now you have full access to external storage devices, And also can transfer data of any applications on an external drive.
thank you very much! I followed the steps and it worked perfectly !! Finally Kodi can write in the usb!!!
just care with installing xposed. you may have trouble updating in the future, And may require a reflash.
Imagine that another possibility is to do root and then install superSU and since there are give write permissions to Kodi. Would it work, too?
In a past FW release I've rooted my X9S with LAN root, but was unable to install/upgrade SuperSU. Seems that there is yet a supersu apk somewere on X9S in an unaccesible folder. Maybe another user can confirm this... (Indeed I'll like very much to be able to install XPosed and TWRP...)
After installing the Root access to the system have all applications! Just as long as there is no way to install the controller, using which you can allow / deny access to specific applications. XPosed installed without problems right from the system!
Spawn_Img said in directions: 1. Question... I am on a MAC, after unzipping 'ROOT_via_LAN_5.1.1_rus_deu' I see mostly windows files with the 2 superuser.apk files. Do these superuser files enable root? Can I run the Superuser.apk file from a USB on the ZidooX9S to enable root, and then proceed with steps 2,3,4,5,6..? thanks Kurt
once you have root up and running you install xposed from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811 / its a APK.
Hi, I am not sure if my external storage issue is related to this, or I need to open a new thread....... After my encounter with the annoying "no location access" pop-up is gone, I can no longer see/access external storage of any kind, usb2/usb3 thumb drive or HDD, including SATA connection, SMB access still works. I thought it was a temporary issue like the pop-up, but the problem remains after a week. I verified that the storage permission is enabled for explorer, home theater and chrome. Is there a setting similar to what you mentioned here that can fix my issue? Thanks in advance
