Dolby Vision issues so far

Hdr shows hdrpq
Dolby vision ones show as dolby vision in left and right side on tv
in the Info box for zidoo at bottom it shows output mode 3840x2160p @23hz yuv422 12 bit bt2020 DV
havent tested an hdr 10+ yet
I think they only devices that can play the full dual layer DV are 4k bluray players

Short DV clips arent the issue ,since it goes pear shape from like 4 to 7 mins in
i can watch full 4k tv epis...ie atm im watching helstrom and Swamp thing HDRs ,but using forced DV lldl and that works fine,except the odd chapter break where DV will flash up top right again and top left,and forced DV on space1999 epis which works very well but a lot of the 720p 1080p tv epis and forced DV just default to a 4/3 ratio which tv and zidoo cant change

ive watched full MEL 7 Makmkv rips of Casino royale ,which only has 5.1 MA and only had a few very minor stutters ,and just the odd DV flash ups at chapters

 

Thanks. Looks like Zidoo still need to tweak their firmware to resolve DV issues. I'm not complaining. When I first bought my X8, it had a lot of issues. It couldn't even remember the last timestamp of the playback and would always start from the beginning. They've come a long way from that and they're still releasing updates for product released in mid 2016.
The Boys (Amazon Prime) can be viewed as HDR10+ when streamed using internal Amazon streaming software. I can upload small 30 second clip from that if you want to test from Z9X

As above i think the MEL 7 converts for movies with only MA 5.1 flash gordon The bond movies ,play almost perfect...few micro stutters ,occassional DV reflashing up ,if you wanted some to makemkv and check out DV

just checked and my amp will pass DV but not the newer hdr 10+

shame the zidoo wasted an HDMI port with incoming instead of second outgoing for audio

media info looks same as the 4k boys epis i already have cheers.....think my sony amp just doesnt pass hdr10+

 

I think it is a good idea if your gear doesn’t support HDR10+ to strip it out of these mkv’s as per the instructions.

 

You're right cucnz. My amp(Yamaha) also don't support HDR10+ according to the specs and Yamaha has no plans to release any update to fix this. They do support DV though.
Anyway HDR10+is not really widespread and The Boys is the only series I've seen that has it. I was able to view it through my TVs internal player with ARC back to the amp. Pana would correctly identify it as HDR10+ with the logo at the bottom right

 

got hdr10+ working well now by changing Zidoo direct to tv and eArc atmos back to the reciever

As a test i re Makemkv .53 Alita to an MKV to re check the DV stutter after 5 mins/audio goes out of synch by 2 secs lagging
Issue still there so not an issue created by the Amp(eliminating things )(Dolby Vison and Atmos was showing on TV )

Next i ran the file direct to the Tv ,via usb HDD
The file played perfectly....in HDR10+ but only in 5.1 limit of the tv mediaplayer
couldnt find any way to force DV to play,but at least it shows the audio /stutter issue wasnt the video file as such ...purley a DV issue

Another bonus running Zidoo direct to tv
Looks like all the issue i was getting with Forced DV setting most 720p/1080p to a 4/3 picture size neither tv nor Zidoos aspect ratio changes could fix,is now gone .so something in the sony dn1080 reviever screwing things possibly
