Unless there is any difference with the 8k boxes, the 8k box just repeats the video file, rather than play once and then starts HT5.

Yep, it's just the same that method MadVR used - a neural network (machine learning) , whch is very different from the "AI" buzz word.
To chime in (and yes, I'm repeating myself)....IMHO, the AI SR algo on this SOC/box/Zidoo needs to be given more credit for what it can do. MadVR...
