Hi. There are 2 hard drives in my Zidoo UHD 3000 (Seagate IronWolf NAS 12 TB CMR) When watching 4K content, the clicking of the hard drives can be clearly heard. This is extremely annoying during quiet sections of the film. Is there any way to get the hard drives quieter or to decouple them? Thank you for your help
Yes some HDD make spinning/vibration noises and others have very loud head moves. Making them quieter obviously is a bit complex. You could try padding the cover with a noise blocking but otherwise thermal conducting material. These do exist. You can do an Eject of HDD's which will shut it down till: player restart or a pull/re-insert of that HDD.
Hi, may I ask you what solution exists as noise blocking ? I would like to reduce noise from my Zidoo Internal HDD (spinning). Any help would be apreciated.
Padding the interior with material also used for loudspeakers could help. This normally works negative for the cooling. Material blocking noise and conducting heat does exist. Don't ask me where and how to get it. Have just seen it working. My Himedia Q10 Pro player had a perfect padding on its top lid.
