Well, while he might be a beta tester with access to the files, don’t download from any third party site.
What do you mean 3rd party site, there isn't a first party site since there are no links anywhere but in that specific location? This site is exactly where I downloaded the file which I used to update to the 1.2.50 since when you search online, there is NO other location for FW download that will show up in the results.
Everything you need is inside the link in the first post by @mirror http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?threads/new-version-1-2-50-1-2-80-for-dmp-a6-dmp-a8-release.97683/ Do I think Eversolo could improve when it comes to info on new firmware? Hell, yes. But as I said, it is all inside that official link in the first post.
That link is a google drive word file which I wouldn't even open because it tells me these are the change logs which for me are totally unimportant as a person who just purchased the device. So the first thing I did was search their site with no result at all. Then I searched online and got to the site linked above. Ater spending several hours trying to figure things out I am now aware how things work but yeah... it is really confusing and non intuitive and different from any other device I've ever updated.
The official link to the firmware is at the bottom of that Google doc. Firmware updates are automated OTA. They should show up on your Eversolo within a few days of release. Some people experience problems with this and Eversolo need to improve OTA. With firmware OTA, it is normal not to have a download site. Manual installation can go wrong.
I got it Saturday morning and it was on 1.2.12 when I initially checked. Tried to setup Soundcloud and got a message that I should update to the latest FW. I went to the update and checked for update and got a message that I'm on the latest version... That much I can say about the OTA and how it works. Btw did I read correctly that you can't actually downgrade to a previous version if you happen to not like the latest one?
I have the same problem.... although my DMP-A8 appears to be working and my DMP-A6 does not. Screenshot from the A6 is attached.
You're a hero... I found it and wrote about it first it seems but I was afraid to try and install it w/o some official confirmation... anything you see as an improvement for example? Is the Internet Radio with the (beta) still in the title?
Maybe a hero or maybe a fool Well, I haven't tested almost anything. In any case, you can install safely. By the way, I wonder why there is such silence about this software?
I presume it just hasn't been fully tested for release yet. I guess my main concern would be that you can't easily downgrade (to a previous stable release) or that it has an issue upgrading to the next stable release.
What happens if you try to install a previous version? It shows a warning that you can't do it or what exactly?
I have never tried it (not yet had a reason to), but I thought that you couldn't install an older version of the software over a newer one.
To those who have 1.2.6 already - can you please try if it plays M3U files now? Is there an index for Albums and Artists in the UI now? (That feature was practically not usable due to endless scrolling)
