Z2600 AAC5.1 with only 2 channel output

Recently purchased a Z2600 and have been setting it up but facing an issue with AAC5.1 encoded videos that I can't seem to figure out.

I have the Z2600 setup so the video output goes to a LG C2 via HDMI, and then the 2nd HDMI output is audio only and goes direct to my receiver (Yamaha RXV-777).

I have a whole series of Archer (2009) which are pretty much all using AAC5.1 but when running with the above setup I only get the front left and right outputs through the receiver. It only seems to be the front channels from the 5.1 setup though as it's missing all dialogue so it doesnt seem to be transcoding. All my other video/audio tests have been fine including DTS, TrueHD etc.

When I play any AAC5.1 video and check the info I can see the audio track -
    Audio: AAC 5.1 channel 44.1KHz (1/1)

From what it seems, the Zidoo seems to think its outputting 5.1 but when I check on the receiver side it only seems to be seeing a 2 channel PCM signal.
I understand that with the way Zidoo works the AAC5.1 signal should be converted to a 5.1 channel PCM signal but all my tests only seem to be able to get a 2 channel (Left/Right) signal on the receiver end.

Reading around a lot of people seem to suggest its a file issue so I found a test file -
    https: //www2. iis.fraunhofer.de/AAC/multichannel.html
LFE and SBR Test - With H.264 Video

I put this on a USB stick and played it through Zidoo and that also seemed to have the same issue with only 2 channel output.
I put that same USB stick in my MacBook connected to the receiver via HDMI and was able to play back the same test file without issue - the receiver actually reporting a 7.1 Channel PCM audio signal

This seems to suggest an issue with the Zidoo specifically with AAC5.1 playback, I have tested a lot of changes on the settings side but none of these seem to fix anything either so I am a bit stumped.

    Raw or Auto?

Currently on raw, but when I try and use Auto it gives the same results

As an update, I changed the 'Digital Sound Output' on the TV to Passthrough and I am now getting dialogue through the 2 channel output which is an improvement as before it only seemed to be background noise for the most part.

Slightly strange as the TV should not be in the audio chain (Zidoo is connected directly to the receiver) so not sure why this made a difference.

    Still no 5.1 yet though

Confirmed AAC 5.1 and FLAC 5.1 are decoding to LPCM 5.1 for me and going to my audio setup correctly over HDMI (Z9X Pro -> HDFury VROOM (Automix EDID + LLDV) -> Samsung Soundbar with wireless rear speakers)

Yeah i know it should be possible with the hardware, with the change seen after switching the Tv 'Digital Sound Output' setting i am starting to think its a setting I have overlooked but im just not sure which and on what device.

I will try Flac5.1 and see if that has the same issue

Slight update as managed to run some FLAC tests today -
    44khz 5.1 - no sound
48khz 5.1 - front left and right only
    88khz 5.1 - no sound
    96khz 5.1 - no sound
    192khz 5.1 - no sound

while the tests were running I went back through the Zidoo settings and in Audio > HDMI Output there are two options -
    1. Main and secondary port separation mode (supposedly video on main HDMI and audio on secondary so separation)
    2. Main port + secondary mode (main port outputs audio and video, secondary supposedly no audio)

With the way Zidoo was connected I had it on mode 1 for separation, but after switching to mode 2 I still get audio output and instead of only getting 2 channels from the 5.1 (previously I would only hear left or right from the tests) I get to hear all channels (the test has dialogue to confirm the channel) although it is being reworked into two channel stereo.

Anyone know how come I am still getting audio output on mode 2 when it supposedly says secondary would not output audio?

I will test this with UHD5000 and let you know my findings.
