Plex App by Zidoo

Plex by zidoo is good but some issues most be fixed

- not all sections comes in main screen only some also when i make on from + button
- TV shows not come at all in continue watching most be fix.
- external subtitles (srt ,ass,..) add with same server not showing at all , we need sloution for this (this come in all sections plex emby jelly third party when make player zedo active)

please can u work for sloutions

 

I want to like this app. But coming from interfaces like kodi or even the plex client (which is not great) this just doesn't cut it.

• I don't understand why everything on the home screen is huge. Continue watching only shows 3 things at once.
• I'd love to be able to customize things but even if I can't, I'm not sure I understand the logic of the sections in the home screen being:
  1. continue watching
  2. accessing the libraries
  3. Recently Added Movies
  and nothing else
• Controls are non existent. How do I mark something as watched? This option is available nowhere I can find (from the home screen, from the library, from the description page of the movie/show, ...)
• Why on earth, when you open a TV Show that's in the process of being watched, does the page put you on the S01 screen and forces you to manually select the season before it offers a "play next" button?
• Having the pre-existing "filters" like All / Continue Watching / Unwatched / ... is nice. But it defaults to All every time. And even if I tuned the filters for that view (forcing me to go all the way to the right), they reset every time you leave.

Other feature I really miss from Kodi: being able to just hit "play" from the home screen or one of the filtered view on a movie and tv-shows, and just have it resume smartly. Either resume the movie / current episode if something is in progress, or start the movie / next episode from the beginning otherwise.

I really want to like the zidoo and the hardware looks decent enough, but honestly the software is all over the place.

The jellyfin version looks better so I'm hopeful that things will slowly trickle down on the plex side though.

[EDIT] Wait it's worse I forgot... In the "continue watching" section, if you have a TV Show, and you select it, it brings you on the main page for that show. On season 1. Come on :-(

 

Is this only for the Z9X 8K? I don't see it anywhere on my Z9X Pro.

 

Yes, it is only available for the newest line of models and doesn't sound like that will change

 

Welp, guess I'll never buy another Zidoo product. Dropping support after less than a year is shameful and should be criminal.

 

Hi, i cannot log in the plex account through the zidoo, i get the following message, Plex media service access failed, please check the service network configuration!

I don't know were to look for the service network configuration

Please some help or directions

What's the purpose of having the Plex app if it doesn't work. Is anybody addressing the plex media access fail problem?

 

Hello all, I’m wondering if the following is an expected behaviour of the native Plex app on Zidoo (I own a Z9X 8K).
Essentially I’m not running my own but I have been granted permission to a friend’s plex server which I would love to access over the internet. I can access all titles on my friend’s server from the official plex app on my TV. Obviously the TV app doesn’t allow me to decode all file types so I would love to use the Zidoo. However, every time I try to link my account to the native Plex app on the Zidoo I fill in the 4 digit code and the app asks me to select the user. Once I’ve selected the user the app starts loading up something but then comes up with this message “The Plex server is not available. Please log in to another account” and shows me another code. Does this happen because the server is not on my LAN? Surely if I have access to the remote server from the official app on my TV and Zidoo’s Plex app is written to replace the official app, an external server should be working with it?

I’d really appreciate some insight as I would love to be able to use Plex on my Zidoo
