Hoping the brains trust here might help me with something. I have had my DMP-A6 for around 2 weeks - love it. I’ve read a few posts about people installing additional apps, and thought I’d have a go at installing Soundcloud, as I occasionally search it for interesting music. Well, downloading the Soundcloud ‘apk’ file (which I didn’t know was a thing) and loading it into the A6 was a breeze. I’ve got the Soundcloud app now within the Apps folder in the A6, however when I tap on it to open I receive a message that says “Soundcloud wont run without Google Play services which are not supported by your device”. Any tips on what to do? Would adding a Google Play apk resolve it? Thanks in advance.
As of now you will not be able to install Google Play Services, but.....if you just "ok" the message you refer to, Soundcloud will work....at least on my A6 it does!!
I'm not an Android user but I think the OS is only used as a backbone to the A6, not tailored for certified Google boxes after all this is a dedicated hi-fi streamer. As mentioned by Joe above I also found that of the sideloaded apps all you need to do is to skip these messages and it still works.
Thankyou, I did exactly that, logged into Soundcould and it works just fine . Maybe Eversolo would consider adding Soundcloud as a native app in due course, one would imagine they could quite easily expand the list of supported apps over time.
Hi, NGSm, would you mind explaining how you did download the APK and then did "send" the app to BMP-A6 to a complete digital caveman = step by step like I'm either 4 years or 94 years old. I would really appreciate this ;-) Cheers and kind regards Uli
Hi, I got it figured out! Hallelujah. One thing that is surprising is that my Soundcloud playlist/tracks are shown/played as 48kHz with my settings at "original" bitrate. Interesting ...
Hey, this from member Ammar11 in the tread "Eversolo DMP-A6 side loaded" does describe it best I think: "You can do it from your computer. 1. Type [IP_address]:18888 in your internet browser 2. (download to your computer an) Select your APK file 3. Wait a few seconds Check your DMP-A6 you should see your app already installed." Cheers
Thank you for the info. It works just nicely using your easy to follow instructions. Most appreciated.
Coming back to the question how to install GPStore on DMPA6. Have we got already a way to have such services to install some licenced hires players?
