    Just a reminder, you can load a mkv file that contains subtitles directly into Subtitle Edit. It will find the subs, select the one you wish to convert then go to save as and select .ass as the format.
    Save. You now have an external ass subtitle that recognises {\an8}

    You don't have to remind us about it - Zidoo would do it if it wanted to
    Apparently they don't care.....

    Thanks man. I appreciate that unfortunately my main usage is internal subs not external. Would there be a way to do it in the device itself for internal? Regardless this should still be supported and I'll keep requesting the feature. luckily I've had a lot of pgs subs lately but as soon as I try to play some random web dl I get the problem instantly.

    Came back super late after months away and learned Zidoo added an8 support a couple months later. YAY!

    Thanks for potentially getting this to the right folks.

    Which model do you have? Have you thought of including the Zidoo model you have in your signature! Makes replies or asking a question a lot easier not to waste time replying to a model that doesn’t apply.

    Z1000 pro. This was a problem across all devices i believe. Issue resolved. I didn't even realize I didnt have a signature. I thought it was set to what I have on av as forums. Thanks for reminding. Probably won't be around again for a long time like if they announce fel DV 100 compatibility hardware or something. Super happy and satisfied with product and software right now.

    I’m using a Zidoo Z9X Pro with update V1.86, but my .srt subtitles with positional tags like {\an8} (for top-center positioning) are not displaying correctly.

    I tried converting my .srt subtitles to .ass. First, I extracted them using gMKVExtractGUI, then saved them as .ass with Subtitle Edit, and finally remuxed them into my .mkv file using MKVToolNix. However, the subtitles are barely visible. They appear in the correct position, but the font color is dark gray, and the opacity seems to be around 1%.

    Can anyone help me configure them properly using Subtitle Edit? Or is there a setting on the Zidoo that allows .srt subtitles with positional tags to display correctly that I am missing?

    Change the colour in Subtitle Edit or Aegis sub

    Or leave the .ass file in the same folder as the videofile and I think you can then use the subtitle button to select the colour and position
