I am a new forum user, greetings to everyone. I recently bought a Z9x8k mainly to use it with my audio collection, but I noticed that it does not read multichannel DTS when set to Raw; instradar, when set to Auto it turns them into stereo. The same thing happens with a dvd. I have a Bose smart ultra connected to the Sony TV with HDMI eARC and the player to the TV in HDMI. With the same configuration with the Dune hd homatic box r 4k plus the multichannel DTS was regularly read so I wonder if I am wrong configuration or it is not supported. Can you give me any advice? thanks
Audio settings work like this: 1. Auto - this sends an audio stream according to the received EDID - so if the EDID allows DTS, then a DTS bitstream is sent, if not it's converted to LPCM stereo etc. 2. RAW - this sends the raw bitstream regardless of what the EDID says - so if a file is DTS, or AC3, or DTS-HD, or TrueHD etc etc then that is what is sent - the raw bitstream. 3. LPCM Stereo - all content is converted to LPCM stereo. Set it to "Auto" unless you're sure you know what you're doing and know what your EDID allows. There is a bug (I just found out about) where DTS 5.1 and AC3 5.1 in DVD ISO get converted to PCM 5.1 - but for any content other than DVD ISO, audio codecs are handled correctly.
I bought Z9X Pro 8K recently because i want true hd dolby atmos and it worked 100% on my samsung q990d sound bar But dts x it's not worked like what happened to you so I'm little disappointed
Can you post your EDID. To Download EDID ================ Settings/Display/Custom EDID/Save EDID Save to a USB stick or network location Post file as attachment to forum
Yes sir I can do that I tried everything in settings Decode auto and raw also downmix hd audio for ac3 & dts everything The sound bar is samsung q990d and my tv Samsung oled s95f Thank you I hope it will work Thats why I moved from egreat a5 to zidoo
Ok - as I thought - DTS isn't supported in the EDID which probably means that you're using eARC? Audio Data Block #1 1 L-PCM, channels=6, rate=192,96,48,44.1,32kHz, bits=24,20,16 1 L-PCM, channels=2, rate=48,44.1,32kHz, bits=24,20,16 2 AC-3, channels=6, rate=48,44.1,32kHz, MBR=640 10 Enhanced AC-3, channels=8, rate=48,44.1,32kHz, AFCdv=1 12 MAT, channels=8, rate=192,96,48kHz, AFCdv=7 The Soundbar supports DTS (as far as I know) but the TV doesn't so I'm guessing you have both the Zidoo and the soundbar plugged into the TV, hence no DTS. Try connecting Zidoo > Soundbar > TV.
