So I hardly join in this forum anymore as most of the threads end up just being complaints about one or more issues. It's a shame because I've had the Eversolo from almost the beginning and still love it in so many ways and it would be nice if we saw mainly threads extolling it's virtues ... but that's not the world we live in these days. However ... and there's always an however and here's the irony this is yet another moan ... the control app at least on android (can't comment on IOS) has been buggy from day one and still can't do basic things properly. I'm sure many on here can list one or more failures in this area. I give an example ... select a playlist created on Amazon music, start playing a track, and then jump down to another track somewhere in the playlist ... simples really except the DMP-A6 insists on displaying the artwork from the track directly after the first track that was playing. You have to click on the track you are wanting to play a second time to get the DMP-A6 to display the correct artwork - something the WiiM Ultra does seemlessly at a third of the price. It's more annoying than anything, and I can live with it, but shouldn't have to as it's a basic function isn't it? I mean track selection is pretty basic ... Anyhow if I was to rate the DMP-A6 it would be: Equipment 9/10 Sound Quality 8.5/10 App 6/10 Just my tuppence worth.
These are all luxury problems. The thing is supposed to stream music and look good while doing it. It does. The rest is just gimmicks. It's like your wife. You can't get her perfect either. Others can always do something better... Solution: Buy a WiiM
Selecting a track to stream and expecting to get that music and art work together is not a luxury or gimmick ... it's a basic expectation. All I can say is if you think that is a luxury you clearly have very low expectations. Well as for a wife you will have no problems there then .... As for the WiiM Ultra ... I bought one when it first came out and is used ahead of the DMP-A6 at least 60% of the time. It has Chromecast to boot, which the A6 has never had, nor never will by the looks of things ... that means being able to create playlists on the fly something again the A6 has never been able to do ... it just plays them. Anyhow this is exactly why I rarely visit this site ... If you post something even though it's factually correct there's always someone who will disagree.
