3D content issue

I've noticed an issue with 3D content on my Z9X. It only recognizes 3D movies ripped from Blu-ray discs in ISO format, and plays them in excellent quality. However, if the 3D content is not in ISO format, or is in an open file format like MP4 or MKV, it plays in 2D only, and the 3D option is disabled or not recognized as 3D. I'm running the latest firmware, version 6.4.68.

Does the Z9X only play 3D content in ISO format? Is there a workaround for this issue?

You've got some setting wrong... I can play both MKV and ISOs..

Ya, no problems with lots of 3d MKV titles with mine.. you may want to post a Mediainfo report of your MKV 3D rips.. something must be wrong with the rips. Or did those MKV files play fine using another media player?

    Thanks Deano for your reply,

Here is detail of media file, This is MKV file which plays well directly in my 3D Projector Hisense Vidda C1Pro, but same file is not recognized in Z9X player. Z9X is playing ISO only.
My setting are basic, did not touch EDID. Is there anything specific I need to look into settings?

Is there any specific 3D setting that needs to be tweaked?
All open MKV 3D files play well directly in my 3D projector, but Z9X is only playing ISO format. that's weird.

    Update everyone,

It works now, after many adjustments! Sometimes, Zidoo fails to recognize 3D .mkv files when opened. To resolve this, I would navigate to the 3D settings within the subtitle menu and randomly click on an option (see attached screenshot). This action would then automatically enable 3D mode. (Strange, indeed!)

After enabling EDID, the player indicated that 3D was not supported. However, it still played 3D ISO files and other open files with some effort.

In conclusion, the player detects and plays ISO BD files flawlessly. Furthermore, its 3D capabilities significantly surpass those of my Hisense C1 Pro projector. Kudos to the Zidoo team!

Still I don't understand why it does not play open 3D mkv file without efforts. even 3D setting won't be shown.

Probably because you are not playing a normal "ripped from your own disc" version of 3D that uses MVC (Multi View Coding) ... I can only assume the Zidoo struggles to recognize your particular Half SBS versions automatically as a 3D file just due to how it was ripped or created. I know it does indeed work on that type of file as I have some old 3D LG TV demo files that use a SBS version and my Zidoo's have always played it just fine sent to my Epson projector. For example here is one of mine that works just fine. .

Thanks for sharing your insight, You are correct, probably copy of 3D is not done properly. However, It is working now with some efforts, as I mentioned in above comment with screen shot.

    Thanks again for your time
