1. First things first, looked for updates. Update found, everything OTA, update worked, that's a relief. 2. Poor expression of English language in the Zidoo interface. Disappointing. If the won't spend $200 to get a native english speaker to proof their messaging, I have doubts about the quality of the device. 3. The remote control is not acceptable for normal and regular home theatre use. a. No mute button b. Poor navigation in Android Play Store and Netflix. I still haven't figured out how to pause a Netflix movie. c. No fast forward / rewind (although it is just a click away in Kodi) 4. I'm using the AUX out sound, and after 5 or 10 minutes of dormancy, the Zidoo plays a full-volume static buzz which is absolutely intolerable. 5. The UI is amatuerish but presents the important things (Netflix, external drive, "Kodi/ZDMC") upfront, so it's not a significant drawback. 6. Videos from Netflix and external drive play well, though I did experience the .25 lag when playing a video from my ext USB drive. This was easily corrected in the Kodi media player audio settings.
