I am considering buying the X9 but have a question about the HDMI passthrough feature. From the reviews I’ve seen on YouTube, it appears that when the HDMI In icon is selected ,the box goes right to the PVR/Record Video screen. Is there any way to simply and quickly view the video which is being input through the HDMI jack? What I am looking for is to have an all-in-one solution that enables me to go back and forth from Netflix and other Android apps to live TV without having to mess with changing inputs on my television — exactly like Google TV used to do. It looks like the X9 may offer this as well, but if I have to cancel out of the PVR screen every time I want to go to live TV, this may not be for me. Any help or answers you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
I'm not sure i understood your issue, but when you select the hdmi input after 10 seconds if no input is given it closes the record window and acts as a passthrough.
Yea this X9 will function just like Google TV. No one else on the planet but you and me think this way. I hate having to flop HDMI inputs. It's not perfect though as some audio won't work. Some commercials stop audio and you have to flip between channels to get it working again. Not sure what that issue is. I also really couldn't care less about recording live TV.
In my X9 the HDMI works only if you select it. Not works the passthrought if the box is not powered. If you start the HDMI recorder than surf on some apps, the recorder still remain active in background and works. Hope this help.
