I would think that would be plenty fast enough. I use a 4 bay Synology unit and it works fine.
Also don't confuse bits (small b) and bytes (big B) an HDD is around 100MB/s which is 800Mbit/s
Uhd Blu-ray's have a max bit rate of 144 Mbit/s, 1Gbit is 1000Mbit/s. So there is plenty of bandwidth, crappy WiFi might be an issue but any wired...
If your display is an OLED this could be the pixel shifting causing a slight overscan as the image moves around. I'd just leave it at 100% scaling...
Did you ever try exFat?
No harm in trying
You might need to tick the beta update box to get 1.0.75 OTA.. or download it and update manually.

I use it with both a LG CX TV and the BenQ x3000i projector. I manually switch the HDR setting on the z9x pro to Auto for TV to get proper DV...
I'd say the HDR to SDR is one of the strengths of the Zidoo. Using the VS10 engine in output SDR does wonders for my projector.
The opensubtitles.org API seems to changed recently which is causing problems for anything using it.
Here is a photo of my TV and AV receiver disagreeing
As I said earlier this will just be the projector reporting the colour depth incorrectly, it's pretty common for displays to do this with yuv 422....
On the plus side you have a Dolby vision player, projector and various movies to watch now
No not colour depth, but for example 4k file being scaled down to 1080p to reduce the file size to play remotely over the internet.
