If I play a multi-channel track from USB connected to A8, Digital coax out to AVR that can process 5.1, will it work or will the A8 only process the 2 channels to push to the AVR? Thanks,
Because A6 is designed for stereo/multi-ch and A8 for stereo only. If you want multi-ch, then you should get the A6. Or just connect to your AVR directly for multi-ch, skipping the A8.
The problem I am having with multi-channel dsd files is that my AVR won't play files from USB. I have a Denon 4800 and it does say it handles multi-channel dsd, but not in iso form. Do you know of any other solutions?
Assuming you meant the DENON AVR-X4800H then, based on the user manual, it will indeed only play DSD64/128 stereo from storage (attached or NAS). Not in ISO form, and not from a USB DAC input. HDMI is also mentioned as compatible in DSD64 stereo and DSD64 multi-ch. For multi-ch, it seems that the A6 is your only option over HDMI Audio out.
