No fw for a long, long time, have we now seen the last fw? And why the 1.0.54 fw never released officially ?
Do you have any problems with your DAC, I think it actually runs reasonably well, now we have the right driver
Well, there were a few minor feature requests / bug fixes IIRC: - have the bit-depth also shown, instead of only the sample rate - remember the volume of each input, not only for the different output - spectrum analyzer / FFT in addition to the VU meters - small correction to the English translations - a Linux flasher for the XMOS firmware... (yes, I added this one now) But it all went silent when the A6 launched...
Yes, you are absolutely right, it is as if the conversation about the two otherwise excellent dacs has come to a standstill Think that would be a shame
Let's hope it is because the A6 has far more things to be fixed, so the devs focus on those... I love my Z8, it's an amazing DAC, but still... some minor improvements, even if only at UI level are always welcome, uh? Cheers, Al.
Still waiting for a firmware which will show bit depth as well as sample rate. Surely not a big modification to do?
I'm afraid it won't happen, several of us have come up with good ideas for improvements I myself am tired of the strange color spots that make it difficult to read the text underneath, and @Nutul have also come up with good ideas for firmware updates, but nothing has been added to the last update (1.0.0.56) other than yes, excuse me four ridiculous mono VU meters
P.S. I haven't installed the latest update yet... just one question to who did: Are the new 4 VUs just mono, or do they have "coaxial" hands, like seen sometimes, white hand for left and red hand for right channel...? I know, somebody would have pointed it out, but you know... hope dies last...
They are mono. Despite the negative comments, I think the new ones are an excellent addition. In the size and ratio of the Z8 display, a single VU works much better than a stereo pair.
