    Hi all,

I read some informations in this forum about the internal network speed from the Zidoos.
I find out the last gen. Z10Pro, Z9x etc. have Gigabit Lan with around 800Mbits for transfers from PC to Zidoo.

In my case I have the Z2000 Pro and I only have around 250 MBits for reading and wrinting through SMB on the internal disk drive. Also checking USB 3 port with a SSD, but the same.

It makes no difference if I go through my 2.5G switches or if I connected direct to the gigabyte port from my FB.

Normally I reach with my NAS or other systems the max. network speed from around 2000 Mbits.

    Can anywhere confirm this?

    Best regards
    MrEd

Something might be a bit wrong there, my Z2600 with an SSD loaded internally is easily reaching >800Mbits transfers over SMB from my Unraid server.

My network infrastructure is a mix of 10GBE (Server and backbone), 2.5GBE (workstation PCs) and 1GBE (devices like the Zidoo)

Not sure exactly what would cause it, I can only think that maybe you are using a computer to transfer from NAS to Zidoo and it isn't using SMB direct (I think that's the feature)? meaning the data is flowing through the PC rather than directly?

I use a file manager on my server to do manual transfers just to eliminate windows occasionally forgetting how to do SMB properly.

I have the Z2000 as well and have reported slow SMB speeds before in other threads. I think my slow speeds are somehow Windows or PC related as no one has been able to solve it despite multiple kind members trying to assist but maybe there is another issue?

I still think your issues are something in the network itself, as they aren't just a bit slow, they're unusually catastrophically slow. I'd still like to see more testing with different computers or a NAS or something. Perhaps we need to look into the operating systems and their mix of SMB1/2/3 version support, I know I have SMB3 with SMB direct and SMB multichannel running on my computers and servers properly as I have fought with it in the past. Windows 11 should be good though, they supposedly fixed some SMB speed bugs in an update last year.

the z2000pro and z2600 are extremely similar in hardware and software so I cant see why it would be specifically different?

My differences from stock for comparison:
Z2600 Firmware 1.0.75g (will be moving to .86g on the weekend)
1tb cheap Sata SSD mounted internally on adaptor tray
Performance tweaks via ADB (I'll post about that when I get home to my main PC and explain, worth testing but I don't think they do anything on this box)
    Projectivy Launcher (ZIUI disabled entirely)
    ZDMC as main media frontend

using the Zidoos built in SMB server and moving files directly from Unraid also from a windows 11 pc.

It’s not only with Windows, I also using my MacBook Pro M2 and creating a SMB network connection to transfer data. The speed is the same, only around 25 MB is the maximum transfer speed. From MacBook to NAS I have a transfer speed from around 180MB (2400 Mbit WiFi6 Connection). Looks like crazy for the case that only the 2000 Pro has this problem.

By the way, with my DMP-A6 I have the same transfer speed from 25MB, should be similar hardware.

Ok, if I read something from Zidoo device I have a transfer speed from around 45-50MB, seems only writing is very low.

Now I create in my Diskstation an SMB share folder for the Zidoo. If I now transfer data from the Synology drive to the Zidoo drive I got transfer speed from around 60 MB/s, crazy.
