    @Markswift2003 - please help with 2 things:

    1. The difference between AW EDID Editor and Deltacast E-EDID.
Editing the very same edid dump file at both tools, but Deltacast Spreaker Allocation has less options to pick and even does not show one of the speakers option I have "On" at AW EDID -RLC/RRC
    See the screen:
    2024-05-06 11_26_22-Window.jpg

    2. Which edid settings Speaker Allocation corresponds to the following bolded media infos?
Channel layout : L R C LFE Ls Rs Lb Rb
Channel layout : C L R LFE Lb Rb Lss Rss

    1. Looks like they just missed it out!

    2. Ls Rs is presumably Left/Right Surround so in EDID terms LS/RS
Lb Rb is presumably Left/Right Back so in EDID terms BL/BR
Lss Rss is presumably Left/Right Side Surround so in EDID terms SiL/SiR

But I've never even looked at speaker config - It describes the speaker config of the display and allows a decoder in the source to send the appropriate channels. I've never seen any equipment that needs this or does this and can't think of a situation where the speaker datablock is needed - certainly with the likes of Zidoo (and any other media player I can think of) the player just outputs a bitstream as defined by the Audio datablock and the Amp/Soundbar/TV decodes it and sends it to the speakers defined in that equipment's setup.

I think I had written this reply in wrong thread, so I have moved it.

    Good morning.

Yesterday I changed all theese settings that you recommended me. THANKS !!!!

And now I have some questions ;)

I have my Tv calibrated professionally with Calman and Xrite, I don´t know if this affects to edid or any information related.

    -Display/Resolution: 3840x2160p 23Hz --> I have to check lock resolution tick?
-What is the effective difference between 23Hz and 24Hz option?
-HDMI Color range in 16-235 or auto?

-If I select Display/HDR: Dolby Vision Low Latency (YUV 422, 12BIT) I cannot watch any content in HDR or HDR10+. My tv is compatible with HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and HLG. So I have to select AUTO if I want to see HDR movies.

-When you said that is equally valid YUV 422 12bit for 4K 23-30 and there are arguments to select 422 over 444 which are these arguments? If its better I choose 422 without any problems.
In my totally ignorance I had every option in maximum values until yesterday :)

-I have uploaded 2 different EDID.
One with Z9xPro connected to my Onkyo TX RZ50 and the Onkyo connected to my TCL75" c845 and the second one is with Z9xPro connected directly to my TCL TV.

This TV has 2 x HDMI 2.1 (40 Gbps) and 2 x HDMI 2.0 (18 Gbps). All with hdmi 8k cables certified. I have connected Zidoo to onkyo (HDMI2.1) and onkyo to the tv with 8k cables and eARC HDMI 4k @60Hz connection.

If you could review them and tell me what things change between both and if everything is correct in my configuration or should I make a custom EDID, I would appreciate it.

    Thank you so much!!!

    1. Ok, Done.
    2. My tv shows a banner saying 24Hz in both modes, 23Hz in Zidoo and 24Hz in Zidoo. This is the cause of my question. Cleared!
    3. I think I prefer to watch every film in his native format. Thanks for explanation.
    4. I had aleatory flickering blank screen seconds watching films and sound continued, so I started to change options, firmwares, more options, more firmwares... and I found this thread.

Some TVs & projectors will report both 23.976 and 24fps as 24 for some reason. My JVC does the same.

Yes, I think so. I have checked fixed in 23hz.

When you have free time, could you check my edids? I don't know how to see this file type in my computer. I'm curious to see if the info is correct. I have calibrated my tv and I would like to watch filmes in the best quality possible.

In 23Hz mode Z9x Pro GUI is quite noticeably less responsive - even to my IR remote! It can be noticed especially at Poster Wall. So I have went back to 60Hz... as a trade of short HDMI re-syncs before and after video playback.

The EDIDs are as expected. Essentially the Onkyo EDID just adds support for DTS-HD which isn't supported by the TV.

As I say, you need to have a very specific reason to mess with EDIDs - for example adding LLDV to a non DV display or restricting bandwidth if the HDMI chain isn't up to the job or removing Dolby Vision.

OK perfect. Thank you very much :)
I expect that with new hdmi cables the image will be more stable within image cuts as from now

Be careful and don't spend a lot. HDMI cables make absolutely no difference whatsoever to image quality. They either work or they don't.

A poor quality HDMI cable may produce "sparklies" on a high bandwidth signal or not pass a signal at all, but assuming you have a noise free picture there is absolutely no difference in image quality between a cable costing a few $$ or one of the ridiculous boutique ones.

As long as the cable is a genuine "Premium Certified" one and bears this logo, it'll be fine:

    Markswift2003, good afternoon!

Can you please take a look at my edid and tell me what the best settings would be for my Z20pro? Thank you!

Just follow the recommended settings thread unless you have an HDFury Vertex2 (or better) in which case I would suggest using LLDV (following the PDF attached that thread).

    Hi Mark
1 EDID - Zidoo connected directly to a Samsung S90C TV.
2 EDID - ZIDOO connected via ONKYO RZ50
When connected through a receiver, the picture is worse! He's changing something!
When the default EDID is the first photo.
When I use all EDID - the second photo both directly and through the receiver! But sometimes it’s turned off by default and you have to turn it off and on again so it’s like in the 2nd photo!
Please look at what is ruining the receiver and what can be done.
    Thank you

You probably have the Onkyo HDMI inputs set to "4K Standard" signal instead of "4K Enhanced". This restricts the input to HDMI 1.4 so you lose HDMI2 modes.

No. Inputs set to 4K Enhanced" , I also tried installing 8K Enhanced

That's really weird - the EDID shows otherwise.

Try the attached EDID - this has 12/10 bit, 4:4:4 and 4:2:0 12-bit support added back in - these were missing in the original but present in the Samsung.

But be aware that if the Onkyo is set up wrongly, these modes will cause a black screen.

(I set the forum to accept EDID files now since a lot pf people are posting them)

    Mark, you are a magician)
Installed the corrected EDID. I rebooted the player, it loaded faster than usual and the settings were not reset!
But there is a question. When calling up information on ONKYO, YCbCr444 24bit was displayed, and after your corrected EDID, YCbCr444 30bit was displayed.
What does this mean please explain. Thank you Mark!
