I just received the unit today. It recognizes my router, however once I enter the PW, the message “wifi failed to connect”. It is the same PW I have used for years, and I am not fat fingering it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And yes, I have restarted the modem, router and unit.
Please let us know your Wifi name setting, Also, please try to connect X9 to another Wifi, example, connect to your phone's personal hotspot.
Please perform a factory reset. It’s currently outside of our working hours. I’ll provide you with more updates once our engineers are back at work. Thank you for your understanding
Hi, I love my new X9 but I have the same problem. WiFi fails to connect to my Asus Router. BSSID is "Sotano" Password is dthe right one. Checked 10 times with firmware 10.0.9 and 10.0.10 beta. Same result. I connect to iPhone or Android hotspot without any problem. Could you please look into it?
Very strange issue, able to connect to hotspot but not Asus router. would you please: 1. let us know the Wifi router model, we can try to obtain one here in China for further analysis. 2. Are you able to try to connect the X9 with another Wifi router? 3. Please also let us know which country are you staying, as well as the MAC address of your X9 Apologize for the inconvenience caused
1. Asus RTAC86U - Not new, but rock solid. 2. Yes. It is only the main house one. 3. Spain. Code: 9C:B8:B4:8C:4F:D0 Firmware ver: 10.0.0.10
I have the same issue, can't connect to my router, an Asus GT-AC5300. I can connect easily to my phones hotspot. Tried a number of different settings, but it still won't connect.
We are ordering the Asus RTAC86U and GT-AC5300 router now, hopefully this wifi compatibility issue can be fixed soon by a firmware update.
Same issue here with Experiabox v10a wifi modem. Is there anything I can check to verify compatibility? Update: I upgraded firmware to version 10, no difference. I also tried with a guest-network (with password enabled), does not work. I cannot enable wifi wihtout password. Even if I put the X9 close (10cm) to the Wifi router it won't connect. anything I can do?
I received my unit today. I had the same problem with WiFi failing to connect (I have a Fritzbox modem\router). Even though it found my network, it would not connect after entering the password. I tried a few times with no luck. I then decided to bring the unit right next to my router and then try the WiFi again. This worked. When I reconnected the X9 to my HiFi, the WiFi connection was now working. Not sure what is causing the issue, although I did notice the WiFi strength was low on the X9 when connected to the HiFi.
All above message copied. We’ve just received the same router model (ASUS) and our team is currently working on troubleshooting the Wi-Fi connection issue. We’ll keep this thread updated with any progress or findings. Thank you for your patience and support!
To me (based on my experience - see post#12) this seems like a WiFi signal strength issue. It's why people can connect via phone hotspot (phone is next to unit) but not via their router (assume router is some distance away from X9 like mine is). It would be good if one of the other users tried connecting to their router again by bringing the X9 next to it. In the testing that Luxsin are doing - move the X9 further and further away from the router to see if there is a crossover point to connecting or not. Of course, make sure WiFi extenders or mesh networks etc are taken into account. I do not have either (but other WiFi units have connected fine in the same area I have the Luxsin).
That'd be great (although disspointing) if that was the issue. But that was the 2nd thing I tried, after rebooting my router. Took the unit downstairs to the living room, and tried connecting there, same wifi failed message. It wasn't next to the router either, I tried it from across the room.
We successfully reproduced a Wi-Fi connection issue with the X9 when used with the ASUS RT-AC86U router. Specifically, the X9 is unable to connect when the Wi-Fi network is secured with a password. However, when the password is removed and the network is left open, the X9 can connect without any issues. This indicates that similar compatibility problems may exist with certain other router models. Based on our investigation, the issue appears to be related to compatibility between the current Wi-Fi driver used in the X9 and specific router encryption or protocol implementations. We are actively working with the Wi-Fi chipset manufacturer to obtain an updated driver that addresses this issue. Once the updated driver is made available to us, we will promptly release a firmware update to resolve the problem. Please note that this may take some time, and we appreciate your patience in the meantime. For users experiencing difficulties connecting to Wi-Fi, we recommend the following troubleshooting steps: 1. If the X9 cannot connect to your home Wi-Fi network, please attempt to connect it to your mobile phone’s hotspot. 2. If it also fails to connect to your hotspot, try changing your hotspot name (SSID) to “Luxsin” and the password to “12345678”, then attempt the connection again. 3. If Step 2 fails, please inform us of your mobile phone model and the router brand/model. 4. If the X9 can connect to your mobile hotspot successfully, please move the X9 closer to your router (to ensure a stronger Wi-Fi signal), and then try connecting to your home Wi-Fi network again. 5. If the connection still fails, try removing the password from your home Wi-Fi network temporarily and attempt the connection once more. 6. If Step 5 also fails, please inform us of your router brand and model. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and are committed to resolving this issue as quickly as possible. Your feedback and cooperation are greatly appreciated.
I also tried some of that. Specifically tried a simpler password, although mine doesn't have special characters, and also tried an open network. Tried a bunch of different WPA options, channels, changing to separate wifi modes (from having steering on, to the 3 networks being separate - one 2.4GHz and 2 5.0GHz), among everything else. Other than this issue, the unit works perfectly, and I am happy with it! Edit - Thought I'd try again on the open network, and it actually worked. Router is in the tri-mode connect, where it steers devices to a network. I'd tried open before, just not tried in tri mode. Got it to connect, putting it back into secure mode, and it fails to connect. So it seems like it's an authentication bug.
1. X9 to mobile phone’s hotspot works fine 2. - 3. - 4. Same problem, even If I put X9 next to router (15cm distance) 5. I cannot remove password in wifi router, it does not allow me to do it, must have a password set (including guestnetwork) 6. WiFi Modem: Experiabox v10a Please inform when we can expect a fix, thank you.
