Will Multi-Room System and Cross-Platform Interaction come to the DMP-A6?

Looking at the Eversolo Play's product page it shows Multi-Room System and Cross-Platform Multi-Device Interaction features. Is it possible to add these features in a firmware update to the DMP-A6? It would be great to be able to link two DMP-A6s together.

I have two systems with a DMP-A6 which is in the main system (living room). I also have a WiiM Ultra (bedroom) and a WiiM Pro (main system). Right now I'm listening to files off of a USB hard drive connected to the Ultra which is linked to the Pro in the living room. It's great to have the ability to link the Ultra and the Pro to have the same music playing in two different rooms. All controlled by the WiiM iOS app on my iPhone 13.

It's great to see Eversolo coming out with new streaming players like the Play. But I'd like to see Eversolo work on providing features like the ability to link multiple DMP-A6s as well. Also the ability to add multiple album files to be played one after another. In the WiiM streamers it's called "Play Last". One clicks on an album file and selects "Play Last" and that album will start playing when the current album is finished. One can add as many album files as they want using the "Play Last" feature. One can also click on the lower right of the WiiM iOS app and see a "Queue" of all the albums and their tracks. It would be nice feature if it could be added to current Eversolo players if possible.

I perfectly see your point. BUT.
Do you think that if a software update could have done the thing, they would have gone to all the struggle of creating a brand new line of products to cope with it?
Or, in other words: do you think they will ever waste all the sales of the new series, just by offering the same capabilities to the older series by means of a SW update...? Don't be numb...

Wow… don’t be numb? I used to think you were a decent guy. But I guess not. Time to take advantage of the ignore feature.

It was a simple question. I’ve seen other manufacturers introduce new features via software updates.

If all you can focus about my post is the "numb" word, then I do agree with you: put me on your ignore list. You never heard of sarcasm, do you?

    P.S.
Now that I think about it... I should have used dumb instead.

If eversolo adds Multi-Room capabilities to the old line, too, this will probably improve the sales of the "Play" series.
I think of getting the AMP to play at a different location in our house. I don't think anybody replaces their device with a new one because of Multi-Room.

Seeing that the DMP-A6 Gen 2 is a current model maybe Eversolo will offer Multi-Room System and Cross-Platform Multi-Device Interaction for the Gen 2 and then maybe the Gen 1. In my opinion it would be good business for Eversolo to do this. If it did happen I'd buy a DMP-A6 Gen 2 and put the Gen 1 in my bedroom system. If not then I won't be buying a Gen 2.

I'm not buying a Play as it doesn't have an HDMI output or the ability to add an internal SSD. With two systems with amps in place there would be no need for the Play in that regard. The Play is a great option for those with a small system that just need a pair of speakers.

Looking back at the firmware updates for my WiiM Ultra and Pro both got room correction capability added via a firmware update. The Pro was out for awhile but WiiM provided the update for it and not just the Ultra. Holding out hope that Eversolo does the same adding Multi-Room System and Cross-Platform Multi-Device Interaction capabilities for the DMP-A6 Gen 1 and Gen 2. As well as the DMP-A8 and A10.

If Eversolo just had just delivered in June 2023 what they sold us on prerelease with AirPlay2 you would not had to ask this … and the A6 would be comfortably multiroom with the WiiM

But that ship sailed and doesn’t look like ankering anymore and yes I still feel suckered on that feature not being on board in the otherwise great streamer

Maybe so but I’m not looking to use AirPlay. I’d just like to see features the Play has to link two Eversolo streamers together.

I'm a new member, having just purchased the DMP A10. I just assumed all EverSolo streamers had this functionality after seeing reviews of the Eversolo Play. My plan was to purchase a Play, provided it could sync with the DMP A10. After reading this post, I see we'll just have to be patient and cross our fingers for this marvelous feature on future updates.

What do you exactly mean with sync ?

    Hello Nutul,
Sorry for the confusion. By sync I mean "mirror" the music selections precisely from my current Eversolo DMP_A10 to perhaps an Eversolo PLAY located in another portion of the house, without any delays or echo, as offered in "Multi-room" PLAY functionality. I just assumed all Eversolo DAC/Streamers offered this capability. Haha, one can never assume as they say.

    Unfortunately i expected the same.

Does anybody have some news regarding this?

In my case i would like to use a DMP A6 Gen.2 together with a Eversolo Play in a multiroom setting of two areas directly next to each other. So it is really important to avoid any kind of delays. For the moment it is working with roon, but i would prefer to use it without roon in the future.

Thought I'd bump this thread. I just bought a second DMP-A6 for a second system. I would really like the ability to sync the two DMP-A6s together. Also the ability to add multiple albums to a queue to be played one after another (not playlists). I really wish Eversolo would add these features to their streamers.

WiiM streamers can do it even in their most basic streamers. Eversolo should be able to add these features in my opinion. I see no reason why the features couldn't be added to the Eversolo app without any hardware changes.

That's exactly what I expected. I bought Play and DMP-A6 SE gen. 2 thinking that Multiroom would work, but I was wrong. I switched from Bluesound and NAD, and there it worked on all devices, old and new, so the argument that Play is a new product and DMP-A6 is outdated is not valid in this case.

Interesting. With your Play are there added functions for "Cross-Platform Multi-Device" in the Eversolo Control app or is it a different app? I see there is an update for the Eversolo app. I'm hesitant to update the app until doing some inquiring as to what the updates are and if there are any issues.

I just sent Eversolo support an email on the possible addition of Cross-Platform Multi-Device Interaction function in the future. Below is the Eversolo support email and a copy of the email I sent. Maybe if enough Eversolo streamer owners contact them maybe they will consider adding the function.

    Hello,

I have two Eversolo DMP-A6 streamers in two different rooms. Will the Cross-Platform Multi-Device Interaction function of the Play be added so that all Eversolo streamers have it in the future? It would be great to be able to sync my two DMP-A6s together.

I have two WiiM streamers (Ultra and Pro) in the same rooms. The WiiM streamers have the capability to sync all of their streamers together. The WiiM app also has a "Play Last" feature so that one can play multiple albums in sequence (not the same as creating a playlist). It would be great if this feature was added to the Eversolo Control app.

    Thank you for your time!

I already wrote about this once in a thread I started. Play has the option to search for other devices, but it doesn't find any. The DMP-A6 ME gen.2 doesn't have this option, so it doesn't support multiroom.

I'm not well versed in whether there are needed hardware components for multiroom functionality. If there is then the hope multiroom functionality with the DMP-A6 is a moot point. If there is no need for specific hardware components and multiroom functionality can be added with firmware updates then what's the delay.

It would be helpful if Eversolo/Zidoo would respond to my email inquiry. They could also respond here in this forum. It'd just be nice to know if it's possible or not possible.

    At the moment:
    - the PLAY has multiroom (well, multi-device) connectivity
    - the A6 does not
    - you cannot search for devices, and expect to find any, if not PLAY ones

This could change in the future, as the multidevice is done over the LAN, and some software update will be necessary for sure.

I believe it is purely a software process. In fact with Roon i can sync the A6 and an Allo USBridge (RPI based streamer) and an Auralic Aries Mini to stream simultaneously as they are all Roon bridges.

it might be a commercial decision to push Play sales.

That's good to know. With that information hopefully Eversolo will update the software of their streamers to offer multiroom functionality. I have no interest in buying two Play streamers just to have multiroom functionality. If that is Eversolo's mindset it will end up costing them sales IMO. If Eversolo offered multiroom functionality with an update and for all of their streamers it would create more interest IMO.

If WiiM comes out with a streamer in the near future with an HDMI output that will change things for me. If by then Eversolo has not offered multiroom functionality then I'll sell my two DMP-A6s and go with all WiiM streamers. The reason I have a WiiM Pro (main system) and an Ultra (bedroom system) is for the multiroom functionality.
