If you like Anime and Jazz then i probably do not need to recomend Cowboy Bebop to you, right? "Gotta knock a little harder" from Yoko Kano (from the Cowboy Bebop Movie OST) is one of my alltime favourite Anime-Sountrack tracks.
IIRC Hiromi also contributed in that movie / series... https://open.spotify.com/album/4GhDb60eJfeVCHJQdHWooc?si=Mr7Ii6neQOqMT2CZ1Y-MGQ
Oooh, that's regarded as (one of the) best jazz recording(s) of the 20th century. It's truly amazing, especially the details of all the noise at the venue (clings / ticks / voices / laughs / etc. etc.). Whenever I listen to it (which is not so often, as I do only when I am alone at home... with no noise whatsoever around...) with my eyes closed, it's really like being there, in that club. Unique.
I prefer the Original Version over the Remastered. They removed most of the background noise, which is an essential part of the fun.
Not from here, actually, but for all to easily get to it... Artist: Steven Wilson Album: Hand.Cannot.Erase. Genre: Progressive rock https://open.spotify.com/album/6P7vL4vGgyrD7q9VR9BcnV?si=NNE7WIS9QYaJ_j6MRtz4fw
It's kind of difficult for me to classify this as Jazz... TBH, at the beginning of the very first track I was more keen to say: "ouch, this sounds more like nu-tango...", but then it wasn't it either... Despite not my favourite, I must admit that arrangement, and overall musicality, are ear-candy indeed.
That's a bit too personal an opinion. Let's just stick to zthe fact that it is a bit unfair to call it Jazz (although some passages do indeed use Jazz scales / musicality, that is what troubled me in the first place). I consider this niche-thread to be very valuable when it comes to discovering new music... just watch out what the fellow members listen to... I got great help so far (OK, this is not one of those cases, but...)
Personally, I think this is outstanding music, a "work of art" 1. Vangelis album "Nocturne" 2. Vollenweider album "The Essential" . __ Let's listen to outstanding composers
As the Opener, i wish we could stick to the guidelines of the thread: Maybe we could enjoy a thread with no fighting and refrain from comments like, "This sounds like a dinosaur throwing up". Please remember that sharing your music taste is something very personal If you dislike it, just leave it and if you love it press the like button or express that you can enjoy it.
