A new update has arrived. But I see that instead of focusing on more serious things, like Spotify Lossless, Eversolo is adding new VUs. Unfortunately, these new VUs are becoming increasingly weak.
Hello oleszcz, you can view this guide to have Spotify Lossless on your streamer http://blog.eversolo.com/2025/10/spotify-lossless-playback-guide-for-eversolo-devices/ We are also aware of the desire of Spotify Lossless of Spotify Connect, if there's any progress we will post announcement. And I understand that the VU meter can give each user a different impression. This beta update includes some highly-required features and new supported services like BBC Radio music. You can go to this thread and view the key highlights. Of course, if you are using this beta version, please feel free to post your thoughts there: https://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?th...are-volunteer-group.101395/page-2#post-268524
I hope this option is added within a short time. I have always seen Eversolo as a very proactive organisation, but I am starting to think that maybe that was a mistake. I am truly disappointed by how long it takes Eversolo to solve, what should be a relatively trivial matter for them, but is an important one for us customers.
I updated to firmware 1.5.30 on my DMP-A6. The system is stable so far, and I haven't encountered any serious bugs. Thanks for BBC Radio app. I have a question about that app: Can we currently get metadata from streams (artist, track title, or broadcast title)? It works on the website and in the native app. I'd venture to speculate that it might be a third-party add-on, not a feature of the stream.
I came up with this idea right after Spotify released the lossless version. Nothing special. Generally, I don't have high expectations. I listened using Tidal because it had the best quality. Now I'd like to listen lossless on Spotify because it has a better algorithm for searching and suggesting new artists. I also sometimes use internet radio. And that's it. So, I'm waiting for the lossless Spotify Connect. Apart from that, the new update works fine.
The speed of the album cover when you select to play a new album it changes after a few seconds on my Eversolo T8. Also improvement needs the speed of the rescan database function. Another bug is that sometimes the scan function doesn't recognize the album cover in some albums. The cover is embedded on the files in jpeg format and the resolution is bellow of 2000x2000 pixels. Sometimes also it recognizes the album cover and after the re-scan function the same album that had cover after the end of the re-scan it's gone. A little bit confusing this behavior. Also the function that is missing is the ability to edit the metadata of the album and the cover. That is functions that the 13 year old Sony HAP-Z1ES had.
Another bug that i discovered has to do with the performance when you searching artist from the unit and at the time when playing music the sound lags. Looks like hardware limitation making these tasks together. Another bug that i noticed it's when you scan the files some albums are registered with only the first 2 tracks. I have 140k tracks at this time and if i continue to add more music because my library on NAS is more than 500k the T8 will crush with this behavior that i see now. Kim when you developing the software do it with library to the max not just a few songs. Load up the library to see the real behavior.
Could you please send me this album for a test? Please take a video to showcase, thanks. We recommend adding via various paths, and each of it less than 1W tracks.
The link for the album is This House Is Empty Without You.zip . SMB connection to the NAS shared folder. The root folder it's the artists and inside every folder are the albums of every artist and every album folder contains the tracks. For the video please give me time to the next weekend and i will send it to you.
Files are all OK here, correctly encoded and tagged. Maybe some useless tags (such as total tracks, or discnumber/totaldiscs in a single-disc edition), but the essentials for classifying it, and showing correct album-art are there.
I totally agree and that's why the whole thing surprised me. I deleted the library and connected through the NFS and did a scan from the beginning and the tags are way better. Maybe it's something with the SMB connection. Have you identify the delay of the cover art when changing albums and the speed of the rescan function?
Nope, but if you are talking about files on a remote SMB vs NFS share, there could possibly be speed differences, in favour of the NFS, of course. Consider that if the album art is embedded, the files have to be opened, their header/metadata read, then the image needs to be extracted (and maybe copied to a local file after being resized... wandering wild here, but this is the usual stuff that generally takes place). The bigger the file, the longer the procedure; and it might be protected against time-outs and the like... I'd keep my library on an external USB drive (e.g. nvme in a USB C enclosure can guarantee you 1GB/s data transfer). This has 2 advantages: 1. take it off the Eversolo, plug it to your PC, transfer a gazillion files in no time 2. need it somewhere else...? well, just take it Just my 2c Cheers, Al.
Hello!. I've re-created the library through the NFS connection. Indeed this album was registered correctly this time. What about the other bugs that i mentioned. What your tech team find?
It's not only the lag it's also the rescan speed that is slow and the album cover that changes with delay when listening music from one album to another.
for what its worth, i've got the same issue with a library of "only" 25k songs. after every rescan the problem concerns different albums, and when an album is only shown with 2 tracks, no other album from the same artist is shown. the tracks however are in fact scanned, as they are visible if you go to "tracks" rather than "genre", "era", "album" etc. ive descibed the issue and my (unsuccessful) attempts to solve it in a more detailed way here: https://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?threads/music-library-issue.101961/ scanning the tracks in packages of around 5k tracks didn't help ( i don't understand what adding less than "1W tracks" as suggested above by kim does mean...)
Sorry for the confusion, I meant the tracks should be less than 10k in the same location. I'll report it to dev and see if there's any other troubleshooting.
I already tried dividing the 25k files in folders of <5k files and scanning them separately, unfortunately that didn't help....
