I have the same feeling with trailers, but I also think we all have a very different way to enjoy our content…

Yeah the trailers are neat but I disable them.

With a standard differential update (like this one), no, there is no need to do anything - just hit update.

With firmware rollback, once we get that underway then although in a lot of cases it won't be necessary, I think I'll be recommending a factory reset - this is only to ensure that any database schemas that change over time do not cause regressions in older firmware.

But normal updates like this, no need to reset. A restart wouldn't hurt, but I never bother.

I messaged Kim about the issue and they've passed it on to the dev team. This was a couple of weeks ago so it would have been unlikely for a fix, if they have one, to make it into this FW update.

It's small potatoes but I care. I like to see them. The Poster Wall is one of the stand out features of the Zidoo and one of the better implementations of the concept visually. The ratings display is a part of it. I'm used to seeing them on all my titles now so, when they're missing, the UI feels incomplete.

I wouldn't have minded if ratings were never implemented in the first place but now my library is a mess where some titles show ratings and some don't. There's also no way to turn off ratings completely for consistency, only a switch between TMDB (which works) and IMDB (which doesn't for new matches) and a toggle for Rotten Tomatoes (also no longer works).

I'm banging on about it because it feels like a simple issue to fix. Or a reasonable alternative could be provided, such as giving us a way to enter in ratings manually without resorting to NFOs (which also don't seem to work with ratings currently).

Not everyone uses every existing feature but if one stops working all of a sudden, it should be looked at no matter if it's popular or not.

    @Technology:I'm ok with you.

    Another thing:
I’d like “TV shows” and “movies” to be separated in the “Unwatched” category, just like all multimedia apps worth their salt do… It’s clearer and saves a lot of clicks (plus, when I use the sort function, some movies or TV shows don’t show up… whereas if I just click on “Unwatched,” they do appear… I’ve had this problem for a long time).
I’ve shared this request with Kim, along with the one regarding the display of the default audio codec icon… and it’s been a while now… and despite the responses—“this has been forwarded to the team,” etc.—nothing has happened… yet it’s not impossible to implement

@Zidoo Support-Kim I wanted to ask you directly if it is possible to optimize this problem within HT: I have inserted the soundtracks for each film and when I am within PosterWall and select a film the soundtrack of that film is played correctly after 3 seconds, when I enter the film information window the soundtrack is played correctly after 3 seconds. But if, inside the information window, I press the "more" button, or open the actor/director information sheets, or extend the film's plot page, playback of the soundtrack stops and never starts again. To play the soundtrack again I have to exit the movie information window, stay in the PosterWall and keep the movie poster selected. I know this isn't as significant an issue as others have reported, but is it possible to optimize this option so that soundtracks play seamlessly even when navigating information windows? Thanks for the work you do!

Have the stuttering and juddering issues in Dolby Vision mode been resolved?

I've passed this on too - no doubt it's these sites messing with their APIs. Goodness knows why - they know how this is often coded into hardware so why they have to make it difficult is beyond me.

    Thanks for the understanding.
At the moment, we don’t have plans to optimize this. When loading movie information, PosterWall(HT) needs to use a significant amount of network bandwidth. Playing the soundtrack at the same time could cause playback to stutter or affect the loading performance. For this reason, the soundtrack can only resume after you exit the information window and return to the PosterWall.

Ok thanks for providing me with the technical explanations. Now I can put my soul at rest, have an ice-cold drink and enjoy watching a good film, hoping that more serious playback problems don't arise ;) Thank you!

The DV stuttering hasn't been replicated by either the developers or testers, as far as I know. However, the video player has been updated. This may have affected DV playback as well. I have a Z30, so I haven't had a chance to test the new firmware yet. Are you still using firmware 1.2.22?

    I have one question. :) :
Why does the internal Zidoo player take a long time to load a video file (even HD, SD) before it starts playing it, while e.g. VLC does it in a moment?

Different applications. And it kind of depends on your definition of a "long time".

I just measured it and it took 2.625s from clicking the remote to appearing on screen (without an HDMI resync). I used a DaVinci Resolve timeline to measure this so accuracy is to within one frame at 24000/1001 fps (This was a 4K23 Dolby Vision Profile 7 remux MKV started from Media Center).

    Is 2.625s a long time?

I have 1.3.05. I really don't understand, I don't understand how it's possible that so many people here on this forum have this problem and they can't reproduce it... Mysteries of life!

    NO!
I'm talking about randomly playing video clips from my hard drive. I have a lot of them and like to play them, but the longer loading times are a bit annoying. VLC loads instantly, but it doesn't play randomly. It's just a minor issue. Loading sometimes takes 5-8 seconds.

When will the OTA update for the Z9X 8K be available? I've been trying it every day since release and the Z9X 8K keeps telling me I'm using the latest version.
It would be nice to fix the Online Updates.

Unfortunately it's not there. Yes I downloaded it from the first page, but I would like the Online Update to work

I know I'm going to regret this.....

But curiosity has the better of me.

    Why?
