    Yeah, it is odd.
I have CEC turned off as well (all is controlled with Harmony activities).

Unlike the majority of users here, I’m probably lucky if I get to use my box once a fortnight due to work commitments and family hijacking the home theatre. When I do get to use it, it’s usually only long enough to watch one movie, so it’s difficult to accurately track issues.

However, the rebooting problem is something I’ve noticed repeatedly, and it seems consistent with @blenky estimate of it occurring roughly every four or five times the box is powered off.

Over the past few months and firmware updates, things have been relatively problem-free for me. I have experienced the micro-stutters, and about a week ago Plex failed to call the Zidoo player. However, in both instances I was unable to reproduce the issue afterwards.

So perhaps the trick to getting the most stable performance from the box is to use it once a fortnight and for no more than two hours at a time!! :D

    Same here - Z9X 8K & UHD8000 and neither ever reboot.

My UHD8000 gets switched on and off with the cinema. The Z9X 8K is generally on all the time but is often switched off to allow other boxes to be used.

    I had the reboot issue...
The first time it happened was when I turned off the Zidoo; after resetting it, the problem persisted when I turned it back on... the issue was with the EDID communication between the TV and the Zidoo.
Setting the HDMI on my OLED to “Optimal for Movies” fixed the problem.
forcing the EDID and/or changing your HDMI settings.
Also, before the reset, I noticed that CEC was still active even though I had unchecked everything.... Now:
    Reset—new HDMI cable—HDMI settings changed:
CEC (the TV controls the Zidoo, and the Zidoo wakes up the TV) works
    No more stuttering
    No more reboots
But there’s a problem with playback resuming, random.

Last night I've got another reboot at TV episode start. Then everything fine.
    Working with NFO NAS-database.

i still get the reboots ,usually within first 5 secs of starting play ,usually after just finishing something else
I also see them occassionally when swapping hdmi ie watch some zidoo ,then hdmi swap to the TV for youtube ,and then swap back .that will quite often force a reboot ,

This is still happening after turning CEC off fully

im used to it so not too worried ...rather the occessional reset ,than having stutters ,which its never had isues with

Maybe someone here on the forums can help me with a bug related to Poster Wall on the Zidoo Z30 Pro.

It has been happening for several versions and still persists even with the latest firmware and HT 5.0: when I’m watching a movie and stop it halfway, it shows up in the history as pending to continue watching. However, if that movie is part of a collection (and within that collection I have the main movie and an extras file) it no longer appears in the history as “unwatched” or pending.

Has anyone encountered the same issue? Thanks.

    Just checked this.

Added an extra to an unwatched movie in a collection:

Played the movie beyond the bookmark point (1 min) and then stopped and resumed from both the HT home screen and the movie details screen

    It worked both times.

Silly question, you do have resume switched on? (Settings/Playback/Bookmarks/Display Mode)

Thanks so much for your message, Mark.

I have a similar example where I’m experiencing this issue:

Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning (2025) 4K (1#UHD Movie)
Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning (2025) (2#Extras Disc)

And yes, I have resume switched on.

I ran a test where I “deleted” the Extras Disc ISO (I moved the file to another HDD), and the UHD Movie MKV appeared as expected.

With this, I was able to understand the issue. Could it be because one file is an MKV and the other is an ISO?

I see in your example that both files are MKV.

I do also have the FancyLeds HDMI backlight system ,between the zidoo and the denon ,or the denon and the tv ,so that may be forcing some of my hdmi resynch resets ,which is also why i dont worry about the odd reset

Last night I had that frustrating experience of it rebooting (three times in a row) again, even though it hadn't happened to me in some weeks.
The circumstances of the reboot: with the Zidoo already on, I turned on the TV. It was only at that moment that it rebooted on its own, because I had used it before --> no problem, I turned off the OLED --> no problem, two hours later I turned on the OLED --> the Zidoo rebooted three times in a row.
@Markswift2003 : I’ll repeat my question: with this firmware, isn’t there an issue with HDMI negotiation time? I get the impression that if the TV’s HDMI response isn’t fast enough, it causes it to reboot.
I say this because with a previous firmware version on my TV, the HDMI communication was slow or unstable, and my Zidoo would reboot very often. So I installed an older, stable firmware version on my OLED, and I no longer experienced those reboots.

Does the Zidoo Z30 Pro supports an internal HDD as:

WD Red Pro 26TB NAS Disco rígido interno 3,5" – 7200 RPM, SATA 6Gb/s, CMR, 512MB de cache

    Many thanks and regards!

I've never tried ISO and MKV mixed, but there's no reason I can think it wouldn't work.

Resume in an ISO may have some dependency on the BluRay engine - I'm not sure.

Also, your naming is wrong. The filenames should be the same, so either:

Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning (2025) 4K.(1#UHD Movie)
Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning (2025) 4K.(2#Extras Disc)

    Or:

Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning (2025).(1#UHD Movie)
Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning (2025).(2#Extras Disc)

No, no issue with HDMI as far as I'm aware.

But obviously the new TV firmware is doing something the Zidoo doesn't like. Probably something to do with CEC.

It’s now been two months since Zidoo’s latest firmware update caused us even more problems than we were already having.

When will Zidoo start fixing these issues?

Do you still believe in problem-solving? I don’t… because the more time goes by, the more I feel they’re taking us for fools…
Even more so since Ever Solo... even with the Z9X 4K, they haven’t been able to respond or make a few simple changes that you see everywhere else (separating series from films in the ‘Unwatched’ section, for example), and it continues with the 8K, but it’s worse there because they’re breaking what used to work. Even the trailers are of a quality unworthy of the price of the box (Kodi and Nova Video Player, for example, do a better job and are free).
I don’t care whether the weather feature works or not—that’s not this box’s job—but its job is to work properly for everyone (otherwise they shouldn’t sell it internationally) in its multimedia function... When it fulfils 100% of its job without any problems, they can add whatever gadgets they like, but for goodness’ sake, Zidoo, don’t force us to stick with broken firmware – let us downgrade
    !!

If you haven't done so already, add your vote here: Reflash factory firmware.
Since I posted that poll, the need to be able to do that has increased even further.
