    OK:

    Power source change: reboot

    Using a powered hub: reboot

    Then I remembered a problem I had with my TV: on my Philips OLED, for HDMI I have the following options:

    1- Standard

    2- Optimal for movies

    3- Optimal for 144Hz

    4: auto

    When I was in auto mode, my Zidoo would reboot (not all the time, but often enough);

    the “optimal for movies” or “standard” modes worked...

    I checked my TV settings: “optimal for movies,” then switched to “standard”: reboot...

    I switched to “auto”... no more reboots. (That’s 6 tests and no reboots, but let’s not celebrate too soon)

    I don’t understand any of this anymore—resetting the firmware now forces me to use auto mode… what is this firmware that’s throwing everything off??

    I’d really like an explanation from an expert...

    Sorry - I kinda can't comment on this because I don't use any of my Zidoos for TV series (except for occasional testing)...

    Ok, but I assume it would still apply to a movie. Press stop, switch off. Reboot and then resume - unless there is something I missed in the logic of the F/W?

    144Hz???

    I don't think this has anything to do with your issue by the way, it's just 144Hz is such a random and utterly bonkers number if it relates to refresh rate!!!

    Either something is causing a crash with the Zidoo (unlikely - I've certainly never seen that!) or CEC is to blame. It's kind of got to be one or the other...

    Yes, odd.

    But odd is not unusual ;)

    I bought a new Z9X 8K in January 2026. Out of the box, the unit worked perfect. After the firmware updated, I lost the "resume" function! and that applied to any video (tv series, movies..etc)

    Guys! Can anyone else experience this, or am I experiencing problems with my own unit?

    So, just tested again. Stop the movie/episode...shows watching to 16:32 in the currently watching - press play and it starts from the beginning.

    :confused::eek::confused:

    Mark, I've asked this several times and haven't gotten any answers... So again.
    When I let HT recognize movies based on nfo files. The director of the movie won't have any info about himself. And at the same time, all the movies I have in HT aren't linked to the actors.
    When will this finally be resolved?

    Sorry, I made a mistake—the option isn't “Optimal 144Hz,” but “Optimal (Auto Pro 144Hz).”
    This morning I tried the “Standard” mode (best compatibility with older devices) --> reboot
    The “Optimal” mode (recommended for watching movies) --> it works again without a reboot.
    I think my entire setup is possessed by a playful spirit....

    As far as Director goes, it depends on the NFO. If the NFO has cast information it's taken from there, if there is no cast information it's taken from TMDB.

    Cast members aren't linked with NFO scraping - I've asked for this forever but it's never happened.

    This is exactly the reason, I do not use NFOs, I really like the feature of seeing what cast members are linked to my other movie files.

    In my case, it's more complicated. If I want to have info about movies in my language and not in English, its translation problems in databases like TMDB. I started localizing movies from my collection in TMDB. But if I want to have detailed info about actors in HT, I have to setup the default HT in English. But then the movie scraping won't work in my language, etc. etc.
    That's why I use my own nfo that I create via TMM and upload it to Zidoo via McBluna's application, which unfortunately doesn't work with the latest HT... That's why I'm looking for other solutions.

    So, I'm the only person with issues with resume points with video files via HT5?

    Just checking, as I've not changed anything my end, so if it's working for others, would be good to know.

    Silly question.. but I assume you have done a hard reboot? Toggled power switch in back? That always seems to fix any weird little glitches that I have had with any of my Zidoos...
