I'd love to know what's going on though...

I have to admit, personally I turn the weather widget off - I don't see the need on a media player - but that may just be me :)

I FINALLY SOLVED MY IR ISSUE!!!

It had gotten laughable... I had literally duct taped the entire front panel of the Z9X and covered the bottom and the damn thing was still receiving signals from my HARMONY HUB... I had the 8K right on top of it and could stop it receiving commands with the smallest of tape squares placed directly over the tiny sensor....

I inspected both boxes and finally figured out that Z9X, with it's vent holes on the left side of the box, was allowing IR flashes to enter the chasis and bounce around inside until it was picked up by the sensor from within!

I simply placed the Z9X to the right of my 8K and I was up and running!!!!

This probably only applies to me...but hopefully someone in a similar boat can benefit...

Lol! IR is a PITA - It's my last resort as a control process! By preference I use RS232 - old fashioned, bomb proof and it doesn't matter how many devices you have.

And with the Zidoos you get discrete on/off without resorting to WOL.

As an aside, I always take a roll of duct tape on holiday - you'd be amazed how useful it can be!!
    (and a Swiss army knife!)

Why am I picturing you as Eddie Marsan in THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ALICE CREED?

Yeah, I can see why that may follow :D

I also take electrical tape and cable ties - honestly, you just never know!

One holiday to France we drove and took one of my Land Rovers with a full tool kit (because - Land Rover!), but it meant I was able to fix the swimming pool heat pump and get the pool up to 25 C ;) And I fixed their garden lights too... :D

I remember the film, where shots were fired in an airtight flat, but no one smelled the burnt gunpowder. Presumably, everyone had coronavirus...
That ruined what was otherwise a good film for me.

The dumbest scene in the history of film takes place in GRAVITY....and that won BEST PICTURE:rolleyes:

Well, The Shape of Water also won best picture

I hated THE SHAPE OF WATER, but can at least recognize that it was set in a fantastical world uncoupled from the laws of time, space and physics...I can even concede that much of GRAVITY is similarly uncoupled as some scenes take place in a stress induced dream.... but not the central climactic scene in which the entire film hinges...
If Clooney can bend the very tip of his index finger...hell if he had beans for lunch that day... the entire movie is pointless...

Ya, that's fair. I just like to pick on TSoW whenever I see best picture come up. That and Argo beating Django. Booooo!

As a Canadian, Argo is a complete slap in the face and an offence to history... which Americans are particularly fond of rewriting....

Strange, on 1.3.01 now... been for several weeks. Got a message today about 1.3.02 ? (I had checked before, told no updates, with beta checked)
    Z9x 8k...

    That's odd - the updates go v1.3.01 > v1.3.02 > v1.3.05

Hey guys, my UHD8000 is still on version V1.2.01. I haven't had any issues with it thus far. I do not have "beta" selected for updates and when checking for online updates, my unit always show that it is up date. However, I see there is a newer version 1.3.05. Should I just stay on v1.2.01 or update to the newer version? Also, do I have to update to all the version in between or can I just jump directly to 1.3.05??

I strongly encourage you not to update.
    - Dolby vision files are broken
    - Wake on lan no longer works
    - Lip sync with DTS borked again
    - You can't roll back your firmware. This update was as close to bricking a device as I've ever gotten.

Thanks for the advice. I have read alot of negative feedback on this new firmware, and very little positive so I wanted to jump on here to ask in hopes that Zidoo has addressed and solved many of the issues users have complained about.

That's not an inherent issue with the firmware - DV, WOL and DTS sync are unaffected and work as they always have.

First thing I'd do if you're seeing the above is a factory reset. Goodness knows what happened!

    Hi Mark,

Can i ask if you are aware if there is a fix coming for the poster wall - as i'm still having issues with it. Latest issue is matching not working all the time and sometimes i get episodes named Season 2 Episode 1 and the whole tv series synopsis rather than the true breakdown of the episode.

Added - not sure if its a TVDB issue or Zidoo poster wall issue.

    Thanks.

Mismatching is usually down to file naming. HT is continually updated as firmware is released.

Ok thanks - i'll take another look at file names in case its me being a doughnut.
