Weather now works, however, once it's setup there is no option to select the Weather on the Home page other than using the mouse on the controller.
Move the mouse curser over the temperature and press the ok button, it opens the Weather App.
Exit mouse mode, and no option to select it without the mouse, not that I can find anyway.

The only other way I can see to view the weather is by via the settings.

I can confirm that this problem persists.

For those like me who have babies and cannot watch a film from start to finish without pausing, we are forced to pause the films several times :mad::mad:, and when I resume playback, the image goes black and I only have sound. The solution is to close the video and reopen it.

Has no one ever reported this problem before? o_O

I installed the new firmware (1.3.05) (OTA) updating the previous one (1.3.02). It's a minimal improvement, but many AVI files still have no video and have audio stutter. Literally, a few AVI movies started working correctly with the previous version (1.3.02). It's as if the developers can't figure it out, or don't have the time. Wasted money on this player (Z9X 8K).

Ok - so MKV is just a container - I've certainly never heard of any files continuing sound when paused - I'd need a sample file to test.

Have you disabled the screensaver on pause?

    See Point #2 here:

If you have VIDEO STUTTER please check THESE SETTINGS (updated) | Zidoo forum

I'm not sure the 8K player series even supports .avi files. It's an ancient format that was used many years ago to create low-quality DVD rips.

But in the previous firmware version, these AVI files were supported without any problems.

AVI files are also just containers, so they can contain any codec (well, not any codec, but you know what I mean!).

So describing a file as an "AVI file" is the same as just saying "a video file", and most probably, "an old video file".

These days, AVI files would most probably contain either divx or Xvid codecs and unless they are configured for modern players they won't play correctly. Often the 4CC code needs to be changed - this is the "Video Stream Four Character Code"

Divx are problematic because a true divx file is proprietary. Xvid is the non-proprietary version (think of AVC and h.264 or HEVC and h.265).

To fix such files, google "FourCC changer" or similar.

You'd have to provide a sample for us to figure out what's going on.

large file over 3GB (movie: Mission to Mars). Where to send it to you? Maybe I'll try recoding it first and see how it play.

I find it shocking that people still watch movies in AVI format...

Just updated from 1.2.40 to v1.3.05 (OTA).
Ran it through some heavy playback for a bit — absolutely no stuttering, no frame drops, no slowdowns, nothing. Plays everything perfectly smooth.
Haven't had time yet to properly dig into the new Home Theater interface, but there are loads of updates there — looking forward to messing around with it later.

I’m quite satisfied with the new firmware on the Z30 Pro. The design of the new HT is fantastic, and the bugs causing successive reboots (when I turn on the projector, the TV, the amplifier, and the HDFury) have finally stopped!
