    * I've collected the results of the test about LPCM 5.1 so far. This issue is waiting for the analysis. Thanks a lot.

Is there a way to revert back to older firmware versions?

No, not with this generation of players using the Amlogic SOC.

    That's a bummer!

Do you know anything about the recent updated causing wierd matching issues? Since 1.2.40G, all of my movies rips get matched to some Chinese porn movie, and I made a thread about it, but no one seems to have a good answer for me... another person replied saying he has the same issue, so I know it's not just me. And 1.2.42G did not fix it.

It's a decision by Zidoo to not allow users to completely reflash the firmware or to downgrade. It's not a chipset limitation.

I thought the answers were pretty clear. Name your files correctly and you will have a near 100% success rate.

I've had the exact same problem with the original factory firmware (can't recall exactly, maybe 1.1.25?) random matches to Chinese Erotic stuff or Chinese daytime soap. Once I even ended up with the Korean version of Days of Our Lives! ALL of the bad matches were solved by naming everything with a pattern that fits "TMDB name(TMDB year).mkv" and ensuring that I match both Movies and TV series against TMDB only.

One good tool to help with the correct naming is https://www.tinymediamanager.org/ I've posted my TMM renamer expressions in another thread.

Doesn't it look like the order of the parentheses in the syntax is wrong?

Yes, the year expression does appear to be incorrect. Well spotted.

TMM is not DPI aware (at least not on my system), and at 4k resolution the text was too small for me to notice the subtle difference. The typo means that the expression would produce a stray closing bracket if there was no year associated with the movie. That's a low probability scenario and in most cases would not manifest itself.

Thanks for pointing it out, I'll see if I can edit my original post to change it to:
    Movie folder: ${title}${ (,year,)}

    Hi,
That's three movies in a row (MKV REMUX in DV or HDR10, in DTS-HD MA or DOLBY ATMOS) where I haven't experienced any stuttering.
However, I changed two things (which I had set up following the advice in the “Best Settings” section) before these three movies:
I switched back to LED TV instead of LED TV AUTO PASSTROUGH
    And I switched back from 4.2.2 12-bit to 4.4.4 10-bit
I have no idea if this could have affected playback, but for now I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

    Sorry i'm french : Translated with DeepL.com

    Hello @Markswift

I am have Z1000Pro and just bougth this new baby UHD8000

What i see , about FW Update procedure on this device UHD 8000, the FW update is through OTA only (meaning there is no FW File for the 1.2.42 ) Only the beta version apparently

So in order to have my unit to the last configuration , I should have :
    • FW : 1.2.42 (G or No G)
    • Hometheater V5 : zidoo_poster_S928_v5.0.68
    am i right ?

    Hometheatre - correct
FW - latest for UHD8000 = 1.2.40 (1.2.42 is for the Z9X 8K only). Your lovely new baby can update to 1.2.40_G but remember once you have, there is no turning back, even when a new FW is released. So you need to make sure that Playstore is a definate requirement if you go for it, otherwise stick to 1.2.40

But where are those FWs 1.2.40 ?
There is no FW section in Zidoo support website

    Thank you Rozel
I am now with FW 1.2.40 G for now all is OK

i had some stuttering phenomenon with the previous FW 1.2.22, and this problem is purely from coming from UHD8000
because my entire system works like a charm (NAS 918+ ; CAT8 Ethernet cable ; Switchs 2.5gb) fully tested with my Z1000Pro

Give it a week or two and then let us know which firmware version is better in that department. 1.2.22 or 1.2.42? I've had no issues with 1.2.22 for weeks, then I started seeing stuttering a fair bit. After a power cycle it went away and it's been OK for weeks again. I have not updated to 1.2.40 or 1.2.42 because a number of users report that 1.2.42 is worse than 1.2.22.
