    Tried this:

    1. Play an episode from an SMB folder containing multiple episodes
    2. Select "Download Subtitle" from context menu, video pauses, Subtitle Selection Screen appears
    3. Select a subtitle and download
    4. Dialogue box "Download Subtitles Successfully"
    5. Dialogue Box "Set External Subtitles Successfully"
    6. Video Resumes with subtitles
    7. Press <Return> to exit Subtitle Selection Screen

Tried this several times on different episodes and different series with no issues.

So there's a variable missing from my experience compared to yours.

Do you have Settings/Downloading Subtitle/Downloading Subtitle switched on or off?

I tried it and it worked fine. Don't know what to say. Thanks, I'll let you know if things happen again. Glad to see you back.

You’re extremely lucky or simply don’t use it so often (connect, save, delete, transfer, eject…)

I have the UHD 8000 and lately it is not displaying any of my watch history. Anyone else having this issue?

When I bought it, Samsung gave a 10 yr. warranty. It is installed in the computer, not connected, ejected, etc. It was purchased in 2016 and has been installed on three computers so far.

That's different type to my portable SSD. The internal SSD is quite reliable and long lasting device.

I noticed that if I have not watched part of a series for about a week or two, it's removed from recently watched / watching history.

That can lead to a completely empty section, if you have been too busy to sit in front of the TV.

I don't really like that. I'd prefer it if the history was kept indefinitely and the size could be set by the user, say in the range of 0 ~ 100.

@Zidoo Support-Kim it seems other users also think this is a good idea. Could you please ask the developers to:
    • Keep the watch history indefinitely (no expiry by time) and allow the user to set the watch history size in the range of 0 ~ 100. (i.e FIFO with adjustable size)
    Thank you.

My watch history has been empty for a while now. I use my player a few times a week. Even if I start a movie and exit out, no watch history is displayed. It just started to do this recently.

    Hello everyone,
Well, I'm joining the list of people who are unhappy with the new firmware 1.2.40.
Unfortunately, I updated the firmware as soon as I took it out of the box, without knowing that it would cause problems...
I bought the UHD8000 to replace the 5000, thinking it would be better, but in fact, at the moment, it's not at all. The 5000, even though it was a beta version, was more stable for video.
Like you, I suffer from stuttering throughout film that I had already watched many times on the 5000, and which played perfectly (UHD REMUX DV and DTS-HD Master)

A new (for me) epic fail has detected in playback PCM, this time PCM 5.1, from video source, exactly from Blu-ray image.
    Firmware is v1.2.40.
A right surround channel plays wrong channel, apparently LFE!
    Can anybody confirm this issue?

    Nope.

    (tested on v1.2.40 and v1.2.42)

I agree that your file has an issue in the right surround channel but all my 5.1 PCM MCH files play just fine.

And I have a lot of them!

From 44KHz 16-bit up to 192KHz 24-bit in various formats - LPCM, FLAC, OPUS etc.

    Try this file:

    Nice music by the way!!
