Ok, I got a couple of files with AAC audio and split into 10 sequential 15s files and they all play fine one after the other - no audio issues.

I tried both 44.1 and 48KHz so I can't replicate this with AAC either.

I must say I quit happily the last weeks. Watched movies and played music...no problems.
(not sure it is because of the movies/codex I watch...but good is good :p )

So I pulled the trigger on the 8K player and so far, so great:)

I'm having an issue updating the firmware on my player. I updated from 1.2.22 to 1.2.25...but it still gave me an error, even though the FW has been updated. The problem is...I would like to update from 1.2.25 to 1.2.25_G, but I haven't been able to successfully update to the G firmware.

Is there another package I'm missing or is there something else I should be doing?

What do you mean "I updated from 1.2.22 to 1.2.25...but it still gave me an error"

I used the FM package (non G variant) and while everything "appeared" to go smooth, after it said 100%, there was a message on the bottom that said something like package verify failed. But the current FW is now 1.2.25 and everything seems to be working fine.

Btw, when I try updating to the G version of the FW, I'm getting verify package error(s) as well. But it won't get to 99% when doing the update, it stays at zero, then I get the error message.

    That's weird.

Verification happens before installation and if it fails, installation is halted.

If you are on v1.2.25 then this file will update to v1.2.25_G but bear in mind it's a one way process - you can't go back to non-G afterwards.

Why do you want G firmware?

Thank you Mark, I'll give it a shot. I would like access to the Google play store to install Youtube. I'm not about adding a ton of apps, I like to keep my unit super light, but having Youtube and "maybe" another app or two would be ideal for me.

YouTube won't work - at least the official app - as far as I know.

People seem to use Smart Tube (whatever that is) - I'd do some research first I think, but I'm not the one to ask because I never use G versions and never install 3rd party apps.

Mark is there any difference between the original Fw and the G version? It’s just an extra such as Google play. Or is there any change it can effect the performance?

Also what do you mean 3rd party apps? Does it effect the performance ?

Final question why can people after install the G version not go back to the original version?
Meaning the version out of box?
    Why is that not possible?

No, no difference at all - it just has the Google Play store added. No performance hits - nothing.

I just keep Google away from as much of my life as I can - not as evil as Meta, but not far off.

These boxes aren't Kodi boxes or your typical Android "TV Box" - they're designed for one thing - local media playback in the highest quality possible and I don't want to compromise that. But that's just me.

No idea why you can't go back to a non-G version - Zidoo took the decision to use differential firmware for these devices which in my opinion was a mistake, but I know and understand the reasons, so it is what it is, and I think that's behind it - exactly why though, I don't know.

Ok, i have one small issue when I start the Zidoo and the external ssd is already connected. The Zidoo is stuck. It opens with Zidoo and that's it. Power off and on and after the Zidoo is fully started I connect the external ssd and no issues.

Check that your ssd contain only media files, no OS images or similar stuff

Thank you!! Worked like a charm!

The only two apps I use are YT and Tivimate, which after some testing both work like a charm.

I did have Tivimate running on my Z9X (installed APK), but never had access to Play store on that device.

Was there a G firmware for the older Z9X as well?
