Hello and good day, I am trying the setup the T8. I like to use a NFS connection to my NAS. I can setup the connection but can not add the username and the password. So I also do not see any file or folder, only the main connection. How could I fix this? Looking forward to any news with interest.
Hello, there's no need to enter account and password, so there's no entrance of it. It should be the configuration issue. In general, you may have a restart after the configuration : )
Normally in my NAS, I do create a user with password and then set NFS priviliges. But witin Eversolo I see no option to insert the crecidentials. But as mentioned, no issue for me any longer
OK, I see : ) In case you or others need a tutorial of configuration: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sO3i-a0PxW2eKbTeCpxpeWp23JVZE2cp/ (After the configuration, you can access the folder in the general way, without insert the account and password)
Thanks for your information. With an Asustor NAS this is working different. You have to add the possibility to add the function username and password in the NFS connection settings as well! As extra feature. Otherwise it is a big sunflower to connect the Eversolo with the NAS, using a decent safety protocal.
Not to pretend I know it all, but... is it really such a big concern to connect your Eversolo, to your NAS, in your local LAN, with a non-secure connection...? Who's gonna enter your LAN, if not somebody through your router... I mean, I'm becoming really curious now of all this hype about secure connections. In your LAN. Sic.
That is quite simpel. I know enough people around me who have problems with encrypted data on their NAS, because malicious parties have somehow managed to gain access to their NAS. It was for them, either pay or lose data Because of all the things I'm running, and the need to keep some ports open, there's a real risk of a hacking attempt. So I don't want unsecured connections in my house, because then an outsider can't easily get through. I find it very strange that nowadays you develop a device that is not optimally equipped for this.
Now... if YOU leave your ports open and unsecured... I would call THIS very strange... Everybody has his needs, though; means of secure connections should always be granted. It's just I do not see usual fit if your router is firewalled (which is the very first thing you want to do...)
