Unable to copy to Zidoo Z20 pro Internal hard drive via network

hi guys, just get my Zidoo Z20 pro, and i cannot copy from the network, i've formated NTFS the hard drive connected to my PC physically, and granted every one on permission to the hard drive, then i put the hard drive on the Zidoo Z20pro, browse from network to the share folder and to the folder of my partition, and i'm unable to copy, writting permission is enabled on the setting, i dont want to enable smb protocol on my system because he have security issue.

ok thanks, using network \\192.161.1.X i'm able to acces the hard drive but not copy file he told me that i have not the autorization, and i've granted everyone on the disque, the solution is to use a usb external sata enclosure and connect the drive to your pc and copy files, then put the disk back on the zidoo buts its a pain,

 

try to format your external disc as exFAT format. For me it works just fine and allow to write files there

After that problem I also faced some freezes through transfer PC->Zidoo, so I also found a solution. If you wish - just write here

Hi Barda4ek, that worked i'll copied 14 gb of data and complete album on the zidoo with all my movie back, and no network faillure but i guess that because i dont copied enougth data, so if you have a fix, its really welcome

nb. I disabled SMB protocol because is useless, and have security issue

hm, I got frozen even with ~10gb files via smb - so it looks like you're lucky one and have no need to use my script yet. So how you transfer your files to hdd? With NFS or what?

if you use \\192.168.1.* in file-explorer/finder to get into your zidoo - it's probably SMB-protocol still

Yeah, that's the one I told you about before... yet, the key for that problem is to make zidoo client, which means that you should force zidoo to get files from shared windows' folder, not just send files from windows to zidoo via file explorer

Here is 2 options:
1) You can use zidoo internal android UI -> go to windows-shared directory here -> and copy-paste files to your zidoo internal hdd right in zidoo
2) ...or you could execute this-behavior-like .sh script from cli (in adb mode) right on windows to force zidoo do it

at least for now - I find the second one option as the easiest (but still sucking) way to transfer files into external HDD. If anyone have known the better idea - I'll appreciate it much

 

there is tons of page on the internet with that error, but i found no solution, hope zidoo will help, anyway thanks a lot Barda4ek for the Extfat tips, and i dont want to copy from the zidoo, but the tips was greatly appreciated

 

As I see these kind of errors appear because of zidoo network-stack interacting with windows - overload smb-packets/timeouts or something...
Anyway, if you find distinct solution - write here, pls! I still haven't found others except zidoo-as-smb-client which I described just above

hi Barda4ek, i was able to format a key 128gb on ntfs and copy file over the network to the key on the zidoo, without granting any permission, so the goal is to format the HDD to ntfs and grant permission to it, to be able to copy file,

hope this can help, i copy a file of 55gb

Hi Barda4ek, i found the solution, i was able to copy a file of 55gb, on the freshly NTFS formated hard drive at 66mo/s all you have to do is to grant you the whole permission to the hard drive, here is the tutorial i folowed you have to be very concentrated to do EXACTLY what he does to grant permission, hope this work for you too

 

so after that - you just copy your files to zidoo via windows file manager? and it works with ~60mb/sec speed with no problem?

 

YES ! i've formatted my 8To hdd in Ntfs using my SATA external disk enclosure, granted my account to the disk using the tutorial, copy back on the hard drive using the usb sata enclosure all my data that i previously backuped on my pc, connect the disk in the Zidoo goes to win +R (exectue) to 192.168.X.X navigate to the folder of the internal HDD and copying one more time the 55 gb file to the zidoo at 66mo/s

all worked fine, but you have to follow exactly the tutorial to grant the permission to your personnal user account on the disk

If smb doesn't work go to program & features & make sure smb features are turned on. Some time i have to turn off, restart computer, go back turn back on, restart & it works. This is for windows 10.

 

smb is not secure and that not worked for me thanks anyway for the tips, this nigth i will try to copy 1,2to over the network, to be sure the solution is rock solid ; )
