Thanks for that I was leaving out the second scan. Worked quite well and found the dreadful movie I used as an example! The irony is I will now delete 3 Days to Kill.
For those having direct connection with Zidoo team, we do not ask for an immediate correction, but we would appreciate at least an acknowledgement of the issue and an estimated ETA. Is it too much to ask? As a new user of Zidoo, I have 2 weeks where I can still return my product for free and switch to Dune. No reaction creates longer terms questions for me...
Direct communication with users is not a strong point for many companies these days, as a long time user my gut tells me it will be more than a fortnight before an update or under the bonnet fix happens. If it requires a firmware update then that seems like a lot of work because there are so many models. If it’s something that can be done directly between Zidoo and TMDB that should be easier? Maybe ? Clearly a solution needs to be found as it’s the "raison d'être" for the Zidoo units.
Workaround: Use tinyMediaManager, Just load your Drive or NAS as a Source, srape all the movies and done, after a short while all your beloved movies will apear as matched on your Zidoo. Sometimes it failes with Complete BD Rips in Folder Format (.iso works fine), because it generates the .nfo file inside the "BDMV" Folder. Just move the .nfo File to the root Folder of the BD and is works fine.
If it were me I don't have faith it will be returned anytime soon. I would return if you can. Just my personal opinion.
I disagree. Changing one code parameter (token ID) and recompiling an update file takes minutes. Not much QA tests needed if at all... We're not talking a complete major update here. It is now Day 4 and counting.
Just jumped on the forum after 4 days of waiting. Apart from anything else, are we to understand that Zidoo is still shifting new products onto the market that at the moment dont in reality work ? Seems very odd. If they cant get the connection with TMDB established again, then surely they can incorporate a manual work around with new firmware.
If I'm not mistaken, aren't all the products they are currently selling, using TMDB as there main movie scraper? If thats the case, they would be cutting their own throats so to speak,If they don't get it working. Paramount to company suicide. Hopefully they are are a little smarter than that. But I think I'm getting slightly ahead of myself, its only been a few days. This is manufacturing, and they don't exactly react very quickly. Its certainly not Toyota. Everything has to stop, find out whats wrong and then find a solution. I know its frustrating, but it takes time.
Thank you very much for workaroud. Works nicely for single files (like .mkv). Unfortunately this doesn't work for me for BDMV structure ripped Blu-rays. TMM will scrape it. But the HT5 is still not recognizing it. And yes I have info file in the main folder not in BDMV.
Thats a good thing to do, warning people not to part with their hard earned money until this is fixed, these arent cheap products. The radio silence on this is shocking, dont care how big or small a business is !
For us that have never used TMM, how does this work ? once you have a scraped file etc, do you just add it back into relevant Zidoo folder as normal ? Would love an idiots guide to this process for less savvy users like me ! haha Thanks in advance !
I just used TMM and it works great. Why not just use this moving forward on the zidoo? Does the same thing? I’m new at this so forgive me lol
Care to give us a literal step by step guide ? A lot of comments regarding TMM seem to assume many are familiar with it here But Im not at all familiar with TMM at all, and how to make it work on my player. Others would also appreciate it too. Regards
Hey I’m not home at the moment but here’s a very high level. Using an internal HDD I connect it to my PC. Download the tinymediamanager software and it will scan all the movie folders you direct it to. It ends up putting a bunch of files in each of the movie folders when it scans and it’s looking at the same database the zidoo looks at (I think). Then I connect my HDD to the zidoo via SATA. I cleared my old scans and ran a new scan of the HDD and it worked perfectly and all the art appeared as advertised. Would be happy to provide more detail once I’m home if it would help.
