Tidal problem with my DMP A8

    Thanks for reaching out to Eversolo.
    We have fed this back to R&D and they will try to reproduce the problem.

    Once it is reproduced, they will try to resolve it asap.

    Contacted this morning by EVERSOLO after service, but they seem unable to accept the fact the problem lies in the device and are viewing the problem as a one off, suggesting that it is a network problem, obviously unique to me. Network has repeatedly checked, verified all lines, connector, modem etc then entirely replaced (except ISP modem). Problem persists.

    I got the same reply from Eversolo, and they asked me to take a video of the dropouts. I'm back on Max setting now and waiting for it to reoccur. Is it possible Tidal was experiencing issues several days ago? Are you still experiencing the dropouts?

    Went through a play list of near 100 songs/files. My EVERSOLO DMP-A8 will not playback any song/files provided to me on my Tidal account in 24 bit via the wired connect. Not one. It seems that all others are fine. When the wired connection is disconnected and the A8 signs on to the same network wirelessly (wifi) it plays all song/files including the 24 bit songs/files, perfectly without a single glitch. I again checked every Ethernet cable, connector male and female on this network used to feed the A8.

    Curious 1 it seems you do have a problem. Try the A8 at a friends house this would rule out your wired network. Send A8 back to retailer.

    Taking the unit to another place with Ethernet wired connection is a good idea. Thank you rmcadam.

    EVERSOLO Aftercare contacted me by e-mail and we are communicating on this problem. Global positioning/time zones issues slowing things down, but the are on it and showing interest. I am encouraged by their responses so far.

    I have posted this on another thread, but will repeat myself here, so that you aware of it. I also had issues with hi-res tracks from Tidal and AM. I thought its my A8 issue and posted relevant posts here. However, then it ended up that my ISP (internet service provider) have had issues on line which caused packet losses every 10-20 sec and with such packet losses streaming was not possible. So they were investigating this issue and finally found and repaired it. Now no packet loss and no freezes anymore. Just FYI.

    Ditto. Mine has cleared up so presume it has to be network issue.

    At last I have finally narrowed the source of my problem down, in the highest of probabilities, to the A8 EVERSOLO device. I needed/wanted a second device for my cottage and wanted a less expensive unit than the problematic A8, it is after all a seasonal cottage, so I bought a new A6M black. Immediately after connecting the new unit, using the suspect Ethernet line as source and not wifi, it played every thing perfectly regardless of the Tidal playback quality provided. I switch over to wifi and it was flawless as well.

    A week ago I attempted to re-establish contact with EVERSOLO by way of their “After Service” link on the EVERSOLO Support page, and fully referenced the back and forth narrative of the 1st contact with them, which had earlier I terminated after several suggestions from them including the usual basic unplug/power up/power down/reboot etc etc initiatives. I decided to suspend contact with them until a) the A8 was connected into a friend’s wired network and tested b) another EVERSOLO product was connected into my wired network. My post above explains the result, which I communicated to EVERSOLO seeking repair guidance. No response has been received from them to this writing.

    Well, it's a week, not few months, uh?
    Also, consider the nature of your problem... they NEED TO BE ABLE to reproduce it, in order to analyse and solve it... should they come to your cottage?
    BTW I would like to... ;-)

    Well they could at least acknowledge that they have received the updated information and perhaps even suggest an authorized repair shop. I am not looking for anything for free. Crickets.

    I've now updated to v1.4.76. Unfortunately, all of these bugs still exist. Furthermore, Tidal connect is now giving me grief, where the A8 doesnt show as a source on my phone (yes the devices are on the same network). Eversolo need to get their act together and fix these debilitating bugs rather than add new features!

    I absolutely concur with your thoughts and findings. All these amenities are wonderful amazing most enjoyable features and useful
    Accessories more for some than others, and which would only be natural

    I use and have had an A8 For approximately one year , With all due respect and honesty, I must admit I have never had any real problematic episodes with this unit , My biggest problem and complaint was there were some useful features on that unit that I took part in
    And used quite frequently on a daily basis
    Then they discontinued their configuration took them off, not there to use no longer available, it’s been posted in quite a few places on this form if you’d like to take a peek

    As far as my own operation of the A8 I will never put new firmware or update on its OS or any other form of configuration until the update has been out and in use for quite a while, but please keep in mind as far as my use is concerned it operates and runs perfectly for me at the moment. I just subscribed to Apple Music, as I am running on a temporary system so haven’t looked into anything any better or further until such time as employed and into my big system

    unfortunately, the only thing I explored that really worked and worked well. Was a complete factory. Reset seem to do the trick. Best of luck to you. Absolutely it’s a pain in the A- -

    I'm happy to report that using "clear the launcher data" on the A8 fixed the Tidal Connect issue I was experiencing...no change on the other issues.
