Agree ! I bought into the Sony A1E bandwagon in 2019, and it was not a great experience to find out the TV couldn’t support the so called TV-Led unlike the LG Oled from the same year. Still can’t say I understand how Dolby went about implementing this. Marketing seems the most likely answer like you mention. Thank you as always for filling in our gaps of understanding. I love Zidoo for what it is at the moment.

Are they likely to support FEL?

Just stick with zidoo or tv led.

I watched two 2 hour movies and the 2 new options seem to introduce some stutter on my new tv.
Option 3 (auto) a stutter every 10 min or so.
    Option 5 (forced) more regular.

As Mark said..they look the same. Keep it simple use the old options.

mine too..that is why i watched 2 long movies and noticed the stutter. I hava new tv..but there is no sign what ever if it likes the input or does something with it or not ( besides the stutter).

I switched back to the "old"tv lead..and everything was fine again.

I'm really satisfied with new update for DV processing. With TV-LED Metadata Bypass Auto or with CMv4.0 my LG TV improve the video (PQ) like 5-10% as shown in attached image.
Bug reminder: With DV and Dolby Atmos, the sound fails sometimes when pushing stop-ffwd-rwd bar.
Aesthetical tick: The info is given TV-LED in all the three stages. Why don't you add TV-LED MD or something similar to be shown in the line space?

Dolby Vision is a overcomplicated mess and it seems the end result anyone of us is watching is totally random.

So I have upgraded my TV from a LG C1 to an LG C3 and where Zidoo used to output Dolby Vision RGB 8bit....it now outputs in YCBCR 422 12bit....why?

To make things more weird I also switched from Panasonic UB9004 to Reavon UBR-X110....where the Panasonic used to output Dolby Vision in YCBCR 444 12bit the Reavon chooses RGB 8bit....why?

Appearantly there are so many possible combinations depending on the hardware and software used that it is no longer possible to determine in wich case Dolby Vision is being presented as it should be.....

Not even talking about that for me it is by far not a done deal that Dolby Vision is the superior HDR version compared to HDR10.....I find in many cases the HDR10 color grading of the same movie or tv show better looking than Dolby Vision.

Don't even get me started about why there should be TV Led Dolby Vision and Player Led Dolby Vision.

Zidoo will output RGB 8bit if you select TV Led and YUV422 12bit if set it to LLDV

The difference between the two bypass modes versus lldv/old tv led modes are easy to see on my tv and I prefer the bypass modes as the image plays with higher brightness and highlights like on all my other players.

I have stuterring in the bypass modes though (known bug and Mark already sent a test clip to the Zidoo devs for that problem) so I hope they fix that soon.

I love the title of this thread lol

I tried the auto bypass mode and there is definitely stuttering. Hopefully that will be fixed. I put it back on TV Led for now.

My LG G4 had a recent update and TV Led bypass mode no longer stutters. I still have the issue of DV blanking for a few seconds which requires a stop and start of the video to fix. However that does not happen that often but still an issue.

Yes, this is the latest LG WebOS24. LG has released new OS this month for all C3, G3 & G4 models.

Does anyone know the reason why I don't have an option for "TV LED" in the Dolby Vision setting, but only "LLDV"? My chain is this: ...(ZIDOO 8K) -(EZCOO 4/2 matrix HDMI V2.0) - (Denon AVR-X2800H) - (LG OLED C2). if i skip ezcoo from the chain, the "TV LED" option appears. Ezcoo matrix is hdmi v2.0 and should have no problems with Dolby Vision
