It would be good, in general, if eversolo were more open about its software development plans. Some of the competition is.

Is there any "political" reson to keep Eversolo customer with a poor 96 kbps Spotifi connect performances?

I spoke to Spotify 3rd tier tech support. The 96k is incorrect. They said it is actually streaming what you select, and showing an incorrect value in the now playing part. It might be part of the same issue that is delaying Spotify connect lossless from working yet. I believe a firmware update will be needed, and both Spotify and Eversolo tech claims they are working on it.

You are right. And this has been stated / clarified already almost 3 weeks ago. It's stunning how people just don't bother to read the threads, and just contribute to adding useless posts to those really wanting to read...

Ha ha ha but the rest of companies like Wiim, Marantz, Amazon, Apple, Sonos, Lyndorf, Sony, Yamaha and other 50… have been able to solve it

    ridiculous defense

@fofocho if you are so against Eversolo's possibilities / willingness to at least say they are working on it (you may not know what royalties are behind such a thing, uh...) what in hell are you doing here?
Are you so negative by personal choice? Or are you just trying to have fun discrediting what I bring to the table just because you don't identify with it? A bit lame, you might agree, right?
Now, take your pills and go bach to where you've been for all this time. Appreciated you effort, but that's it. It's clear you have nothing constructive to add, so I strongly believe nobody's going to miss you.

Take your pills to recover lucidity.

Don’t you realize that all those problems have not prevented the rest of companies to implement Spotify Connect Lossless?

Can’t you see that Eversolo is the only one facing those issues?

Why do you defend Eversolo with the argument that there are issues from Spotify side? If the issues are on Spotify side, how the rest of companies have been enable to implement it?

    ridiculous defense

You are such a useless c**t. you just talk bs all around. go buy a product from those companies, then, and stop s****ing around, if you are so happy with their achievements.
I do not defend Eversolo. I just look technically and unbiased. Unlike you, that just judges without even thinking about technicalities.
It is just useless to say: "how comes that Wiim made it a long ago?", I really hope you understand.
It's just like saying: "how comes that FORD has not yet came around with a performing electric vehicle?!? the tech is there!"... but you probably don't get this either.
I usually do not put anybody on ignore list, but in your case I am really thinking about it; despite the fact that reading how silly you render yourself is, somehow, funny to waste some time on...

Guys, I don’t think it’s a good idea to argue about these topics. Here’s how I see it: on one hand, it seems a bit strange that the bitrate is set to a value other than 96 kbps while the Spotify client still shows 96 kbps… it’s hard to just take it on faith; it would be better to fix this annoying bug.

As for the time EVERSOLO is taking to implement lossless, that’s a different matter. Many factors come into play, such as software developer availability, other ongoing projects, and so on.

Let’s say this issue isn’t pleasant, but in my opinion the streamer’s software is well made, and there’s nothing that makes me think the EVERSOLO developers are incompetent.

I believe the problem is that Eversolo is one of the only Android based streamers.

Amazon Fire is based on Android and has Spotify Connect Lossless since day 1

The problem is not Android, of course.(*) It is, most probably, the fact that Spotify is not keen to spread their changes, unless you specifically request (as it is understandable, when it comes to third party implementations of their proprietary protocol). Eversolo being a Chinese company does probably imply longer times. Then we can only speculate about the size of the Eversolo's development department, that could also affect the release date.

    (*)
Don't get me wrong: I am strongly convinced that Android as an operating system- (or the "dress" upon it) drastically affects the system performance... it's not the fastest; and when it comes to audio, real-time responsiveness is the thing you want, being real-time the closest you can get to the responsiveness of the analog world.

Well, it is an android op system, but the secret sauce for eversolo was they figured out how to enable apps to run lossless or high rez in an android environment. Everyone ran to it because it’s one of the few places one can easily play Apple Lossless. Right now, if you run Spotify from a side loaded app, it will also run lossless, and you can then continue your listening session through Spotify connect. It’s odd, but not horrible if it is a short term thing. I also note that Eversolo has a native Idageo app, but does not support Idageo connect. That never really bothered me, since the app experience is the same. Also, Eversolo supports airplay 1, instead of 2. You would think that would be worse, but actually it allows airplay to play lossless to eversolo. If it were airplay 2, they both would throttle the resolution down to stanard AAC.

What many people don’t know, who have android phones, is that when they play Spotify, or other lossless clients, they are not getting lossless. The OS throttles the resolution down. That is why eversolo having a work around was such a big deal.

This is basically how spotify-connect works:
output at 0dB FS, and volume control on the destination device. It has always been like that.

I have to correct this, Spotify Connet let you modify volume from the client device, remote controlling EVERSOLO volume

My 3 cars, one even from 2015, have updated to Spotify Lossless. Cars are not in the Music industry

My Wiim, a $85 device from a small company, updated to Spotify Lossless more than one month ago

There’s something really strange with Eversolo

Yes, I have to admit there is a flag in the interface that lets you decide what type of volume control you want.
