There's nothing in the EDID to tell you that - some TVs support MacCLL/FALL and some only use MDL - I think LGs support MaxCLL/FALL (which is the correct way to do it) so I'd leave them on (wouldn't affect anything if the TV didn't support them).

does the custom EDID that you made for me effect all tv settings such as sdr hdr or is it only dolby vision?

No, it only changes Dolby Vision.

    Hello @Markswift2003
Hope you had a very Merry Christmas!

I started this thread and you helped me correct a problem with my EDID giving wonky information. Not sure if you remember it, so that's why I'm posting in here, in case you need to re-read our correspondence. I have had several firmware updates on my TV since then, and this most recent one was a jump from V2xx to V302, so I thought it might be prudent to see if anything has changed.

Your post #9 from this thread is where you explained everything and linked the EDID you created.

Here is my new EDID. Thanks for your help!

A nice quiet one thanks :)

    So yes, I remember this...

Your new EDID has, as you'd expect, reverted to the original values for Min/Max nits.

    The new EDID decodes as:

    DV Version: 2
    DV DM Version: v5.x
    DV Interface: DV + LLDV 12-bit 422
    YUV422 12bit: Supported
    Global Dimming: Supported
    Backlight Control: Not Supported
    RED Primary: Rx=0.680 Ry=0.305
    GREEN Primary: Gx=0.223 Gy=0.676
    BLUE Primary: Bx=0.152 By=0.055
    MAX/MIN Luminance: 372 / 0.045 nits

The only difference between this and the original one is the DM Version - the old one was v3.x and this one is v5.x which I've never heard of. The latest version I was aware of was v4.x but that may have changed - anyway, I've left that as is.

Attached is a new EDID with min/max luminance changed to match what we did before:

    DV Version: 2
    DV DM Version: v5.x
    DV Interface: DV + LLDV 12-bit 422
    YUV422 12bit: Supported
    Global Dimming: Supported
    Backlight Control: Not Supported
    RED Primary: Rx=0.680 Ry=0.305
    GREEN Primary: Gx=0.223 Gy=0.676
    BLUE Primary: Bx=0.152 By=0.055
    MAX/MIN Luminance: 897 / 0 nits

Wow, that was super fast! I tried it out and as expected, it's essentially exactly the same. I guess because the EDID information is essentially exactly the same. What does 'DM' stand for in DV DM Version? Dynamic Metadata? Dynamic Mapping? Just curious.

Apparently this new EDID probably won't make any difference at all in my display quality, but where it will make a huge difference is in me worrying if my new firmware was in any conflict with my old EDID, so thank you again for helping me again and for the peace of mind!

DM = Display Management - part of the Dolby pipeline that deals with metadata.
