Good for you that the problem was the tag, and not Eversolo capitalising it. :)

@losinka Just what I have been looking for. :) I've got quite a few SACDs that I've ripped to ISO files where either the metadata tags were absent or incorrect, or as you so rightly pointed out where the artist's name has been authored in all capitals and the eversolo library records it as another artist. I'm eager try this program out. Thanks for sharing your program with the forum members. Most appreciated.

EDIT: I've been playing with this program for a few hours this morning and I'm very impressed. I've been able to correct SACD ISO files with errors in album, artist, track titles, genres, etc.

... or press button "Title Case".

I'm still playing with the app, here are some more suggestions:
    • Make last opened folder for ".iso" and "backups" remember independently.
    • When restoring a backup and and .iso is open, a message will pop-up and say that the .iso doesn't match (even if it does). Offer to close the .iso (yes/no) and locate the file (chosing the same .iso from the file picker successfully patches with the backup).
    • For Musicbrainz, fetch more rich data, including performer, compsoser, song-writer, etc. Basically fill all the fields in a track that open with the arrow. Not sure if that is possible with Discogs.
The last part is especially useful for classical releases. For the one I tried (Musicbrainz / Discogs), your software will correctly fetch Beethoven as the album artist, but without the booklet we'll be guessing as to the performers (conductor, orchestra, soloist etc.).

Another Eversolo quirk I found when editing ISOs... I edited "Talk Talk - The Colour of Spring" and was happy because before it didn't have neither artist nor album title. The iso patcher was able to completely rewrite the file and make space for that information to write it. I did some experimenting on that disc, editing and restoring it several times. However, the DMP-A6 was not entirely happy with my experiments. On each rescan of the library, it doubled the available tracks titles, i.e. on second edit each title was present twice and so on.

So, rescanning was not enough to update the library. I deleted the music library cache but that didn't fix the double entries either. Only after a rebuild were the duplicates gone. Fortunately, ISO metadata is scanned very quickly.

So users, beware! If you have ISOs your best practice should be to
    1. Keep your SACD ISOs physically in a separate folder which is not a subfolder of the rest of your music.
    2. Add your SACD ISOs as a separate folder in your music library.
    3. After you've done editing your ISOs, you need to REBUILD that folder for the music library. That option is only available on the device itself, not in the app (yet, hint hint)!

Alternatively, allow backup data to be saved next to or in a subfolder of the ISO folder.

Sorry for swamping you with text but unless I write the stuff down immediately my old brain will forget

Bloody Musicbrainz... while it has perfect title case, it screws with using data in other ways. While importing data for a classical release I struck the beautifier bug... they use a typographical dash ‐ instead of an ASCII dash -. They are visually almost identical, however, it makes the software complain about incompatible characters when trying to save...

Also, since musicbrainz frowns upon entering SACD layers as different discs, many users make one long track list of stereo and multichannel tracks. Unfortunately, this makes release matching impossible at this moment as the ISO loaded into the software has fewer tracks than the musicbrainz release...

I think you didn't understand, you can't do them there and in any case you always have to do them one at a time.....

When the developer tells you a solution it would be best not to second guess him but search the problem on your end...

The “Title Case” button should correct the album title, artist names, and track titles. If that does not happen, then it is a bug. But nobody mentioned that. If you mean entering the same metadata for each track, that has already been done, but it will be in the next version ;)
Right now I am working on encoder optimization, which has already taken quite a while. After that, I need a large test over several days to test it automatically on 100-150 images - that will take two or three days. Then I will fix the bugs that were reported here.
Not everything at once. I do have a job, family, and this is only something I do in my free time. I am not paid for it. Please be patient :)

The table I'm talking about is this one.....and you can only open one file at a time. For example, if the artist's name is written in capital letters here in the performer box, eversolo takes it in capital letters. In fact, I've already tested that by correcting this table, eversolo takes the correct name. The great thing about this table is that everything you put in is then also transferred to the dff file, so there are enough tags. It would be great if, instead of correcting one at a time, you could do everything together.

That is exactly what I told you: pressing the “Title Case” button also changes NEJIRO to Nejiro in the track tags.

Unfortunately separate "conductor", "orchestra", "ensemble", "soloist" fields can't be added - and it's not a limitation of the app, it's the SACD format itself. The text fields on an SACD disc are fixed by the Scarlet Book specification. A spec-compliant player reads only those fields - anything written outside them is invisible to a compliant player (and there's no room for arbitrary fields: the spec requires reserved bytes to be zero). So there's nowhere to put a "conductor" line - a player would have nothing to read it from.

The complete list of legal text fields per the spec:
Per track (8 fields, each with a phonetic counterpart):
    - Title
    - Performer(s)
    - Songwriter(s)
    - Composer(s)
    - Arranger(s)
    - Message (from the label/artist)
    - Extra message
    - Copyright

Per album and per disc (4 fields each, plus phonetic, separately for album and disc):
    - Title
    - Artist
    - Publisher
    - Copyright

Note: the "Performer" field is literally "name(s) of the performer(s)", plural. The conductor, orchestra and soloists ARE performers, so that's exactly where they belong - together, in the Performer field. Composer goes to Composer, lyricist to Songwriter, arranger to Arranger. So all that information does make it onto the disc - just not as a separate slot per role, but in the fields the spec defines and a player actually displays.

    fixed

    @PaTe
    fixed too

Thanks - you pointed exactly to the core of the problem. Right now, release matching relies on the number of tracks, so when a MusicBrainz release contains stereo and multichannel layers as one long tracklist, it has more tracks than a single area loaded from the ISO, and the match fails. This is a real current limitation. MusicBrainz has no strict standard for how SACD layers should be entered - one combined list, separate media, mixed together, different track counts per layer, and so on - so there is no single rule that would always guess the correct alignment. Silently applying the wrong track metadata would be worse than applying nothing. Because of that, I really do not want to get involved with this.
What could be done: for example, the track count remains the main matching signal (I am not removing it) but for combined-layer cases, matching by track titles could be added, and importantly, the proposed alignment should be shown for confirmation or correction instead of letting the program guess.
So: heard, understood, but that is all for now :-/

Surprisingly, I was able to work around that today. I turned of "Blocking" in settings and was able to do a musicbrainz match with a release that had a different number of tracks. The additional tracks were discarded but that was alright for my purposes.

Musicbrainz has a nice way of populating the performer field... here's an example for the track "Take it Easy" by "Eagles":
Glenn Frey (acoustic guitar); Don Henley (drums (drum set)); Bernie Leadon (banjo and electric guitar); Randy Meisner (bass guitar); Glenn Frey (lead vocals); Don Henley (background vocals); Bernie Leadon (background vocals); Randy Meisner (background vocals)

The Eversolo music library has a "Performers" filter as well, I wonder if that field can be extracted in a compatible way.

Thanks to this program I am using the Eversolo library with pleasure, finally I can have everything in order. I am making a small library of multichannel files since I also have a home cinema system, basically after correcting the ISO I only extract the multichannel tracks in dff/dst, Eversolo detects the artist tags, album name and song title and this is already fine for me, unfortunately it does not detect the genre tag (for example jazz, rock etc ...) even though I have inserted it, for example Foobar detects any tag contained in the dff files, I hope that in the future Eversolo will also do it... by the way, a question, is the only Eversolo that supports multichannel files from HDMI only those of the 6 series? I saw the new A8 gen2 but I could not understand if it supports multichannel DSD and PCM from the HDMI output.....
