So is it correct to say that if I wanted to use the DMP A10 as the streaming source, feed it OUT the Coax SPDIF, into an external DAC, then back into the DMP A10 via XLR input, then out the XLR's to an Amplifier... I'd be able to use Room correction, PEQ, and Subwoofer levels, etc. while using both the streamer and preamp functionality?
The Eversolo is not an audio-router/mixer... once you sent the audio signal out of it, it's your job to administer it. Anyway, you still need a power amp with the Eversolo. And for the pre, you can still use it, as it sends the audio out, and you can regulate it...
Thanks for the response, although the responses seem contradictory ("can't do that was the first response, but can still use it as Pre in the 2nd) . If using the USB out to a Dac, from what I understand, you get no use of room correction or PEQ, etc... Is this also true of the A8 now that it apparently can also do room correction? Separate to that, let me rephrase my initial question... I get that both units require an external amp, no argument there. The question was if using the digital out from either A10 or A8 (lets say Coax) out to an external DAC, can you then go from that Dac to the analog IN XLR's of the Eversolo unit, to then use the preamp function of the XLR's out to the amp of your choice (effectively utilizing first the streamer, and then the preamp function)? Confusing I know..
As I said, NO. Then you were talking about coax since the beginning, so USB is out of the equation. Thye A10 / A8 will be the source, controlling the vlume, outputting a digital sound through COAX to you external DAC, from there you go to your power amp, and then to your speakers. Everything PEQ / DSP is already in the output signal fed to your DAC.
