Casey provided the setting solution, thanks! "You can simply turn it off in Settings > Preferences > scroll down to the bottom and turn off "details dynamic background"."

Having installed the .40 apk, my device has been scanning continuously for the last 3 hrs. does it need to rescan all of my movies again.

 

clear installing? first delete .40 and after install .42 is better method?

but in your link there is the same link and nothing else. the changelog is empty...

OK, this has been a journey.
Not matching movies, backed up poster wall, installed patch, worked BUT wouldn’t download poster art and constantly scanned sources. Wouldn’t match movies added after patch was applied. Then started not matching TV files and collections.
Had enough, so I restored my poster wall back up. NOTHING, no posters showing up and no ‘rules’ for where to scan my sources. Tried adding movies, but not matching, hit & miss for tv and still constantly scanning sources.
Really had enough and performed an emergency firmware flash (downgraded from v6.4.68g beta to v6.3.92g). ‘Cleaned’ everything and installed the patch. Setup new rules for scanning and………
EVERYTHING NOW WORKS!

 

Bet it was cathartic though

 

It was like the damn thing had dementia. It was just getting progressively worse. My OCD was kicking right-off and driving me insane. The relief when it all came back was amazing tho.

Happened to me as well. could not believe it when the backup just gave my the new icons and nothing else. Not down graded from .42, just re added my sources and put my custom icons back.
so far it looks to be scanning ok.

 

Hope it works bro. The constant scanning on its own was enough to drive me mad

 

So, if someone is currently on .37 now, should they be upgrading to .40 or .40B?

 

40 is for 1619 machines and 40B is for 1619BPD machines. Yes update but with the correct version according to your machine type.

 

Well on my UHD3000 running ….40, trailers are working big time! I downloaded the latest Doctor Who, matched instantly via TMDB and then when I opened it on Zidoo HT a trailer on a tv show loaded including Behind the scenes and 2 trailers!!! A big improvement to HT5 operation.
Also it loaded 3 trailers and to pause playback use the OK button. The info button brings up top left, technical info, just one line.

 

It looks like 6.4.42 is available for UHD3000

Except we already have Firmware. v6.4.68 The version you quote is quite old from 2022.

Easy to conflate the HT5 apk versions and the overall firmware version levels, I suspect...

 

Excuse me guys I'm a little bit lost. Where to grab the .40 apk of HT for the Z9x ? I don't see any links but the ones from Zidoo on page 1. I have the same problem than you. Some Zidoo seller on AliExpress tried to help me by giving me a link to download a firmware ending in .68 which I don't know where is it from as the system kept telling me than the .42 version I had was the most up to date... Now I'm on version 5 of HT but the TMDb issue is still there. Thx

 

You will find the firmware update on the Forum on the sub forum dealing with your Zidoo model type, the updated HT file ….52 is also there. Both are USB downloads …..68 is a full firmware update and the HT is replacing the older HT APK file. Page 1 of the Zidoo site is hardly ever updated in my experience or months after the event. The sub forum for your model is the place to look.
