Power-on related problems with early production DMP-A6 Gen2 units (register your case here only)

    Hi,

    I have a DMP-A6 Gen 2 Master Edition player which I bought from Taobao around early March 2025 (I live in Shenzhen).

    The device stopped functioning out of nowhere a day ago. I guess this is a known issue tied to a specific batch of this product.

    I wonder if it is possible for me to take the device to the service center in Shenzhen directly for a repair (Hopefully under warranty since I don't believe I have done anything wrong)

    I would be glad if you can guide me to the right contact point.

    I just wanted to say. you are extremely lucky in residing where these units are actually produced and come from to the best of my knowledge, that’s almost instant service perhaps , I would presume in regards to Eversolo you’re right where you wanna to be, nice lol :)

    I’m MOST certain your you should have no problem finding geez , you’re right there most certain or believe the average audio hobbiest their would absolutely point out ZIDOO/ EVERSOLO , if that’s absolutely your case that’s wonderful good for you. lol

    Send a direct message to @Zidoo Support-Kim stating the serial number, MAC Address of your unit and when you purchased it. Kim will guide you through the return process.

    Thank you for your kind comments.

    You are right, China is actually one of the best places to live if you have an interest in new generation tech products and Shenzhen is really an amazing city (Except three months in summer where the whole city turns into a Sauna )

    Morning everyone,

    So my second A6 Gen 2 unit failed (overnight whilst I slept lol). My first unit was purchased in March 2025, failed on July 8th and was replaced on July 11th. Now my second unit died March 7th.

    I suspect the unit I was given as a replacement last July was from the same inventory batch as my first unit, so not surprising really.

    In any case, I'll be contacting the dealer this morning. Maybe I'll get another off the shelf replacement, but newer inventory i.e. not manufactured between Jan 2025 and May 2025.

    Keep you posted!

    EDIT: dealer will be replacing the power supply next week. Only downside is that it's only a 3 month warranty thereafter. I'm not too concerned however. If it fails again, I'll just buy another power supply and replace myself. Cheaper than buying a new unit, of any brand.

    @Zidoo Support-Kim unless Eversolo can extend the warranty? My dealer is Bay Bloor in Toronto Canada.

    That really sucks, sorry to hear.

    Would be great if Eversolo could share the range of Serial Numbers affected, but I'd understand their reluctance to do so.

    Huh? A three month warranty on a new PSU? That's pretty poor IMHO considering the promises made by eversolo "to make good" to any affected customers with Gen2 units that had a faulty PSU with at least one year additional warranty IIRC.

    Agreed. Dealer said that's what they were told, which is why I tagged Kim. I'm hoping she can somehow flag my unit with the promised 2 year warranty on the Linear PSU. I'll keep you posted.

    Hello @Dlmarien . I'm sorry for the delayed reply.

    All A6 Gen 2 units come with a 2-year free power supply replacement guarantee if this specific issue arises.
    I understand your worry. If there's any occasional case where certain power supplies required replacement twice, it will be treated with the great attention and be covered under the warranty.

    If you're asked for cost, you can contact service@eversolo.com directly with:
    --Device model
    --MAC (found on the bottom label)
    --Proof of payment
    --Your PayPal account for reimbursement

    No worries, assumed you were busy. Brilliant Kim! Thanks very much for confirming. I doubt there will be any further issues with this new (pending) PSU, but good to know we'll be covered for 2 additional yrs for any PSU replacement.

    Power supply successfully replaced earlier today. No charge obviously and a 2 year warranty if the same issue reappears, which I doubt will re-occur.

    In any case, many thanks to Kim @Zidoo Support-Kim for confirming the additional warranty and other valuable assistance.

    Hi , sorry somewhat of a late reply, SOME extended warrantys can be absolutely without doubt well worth it but unfortunately, for a little piece of mind you always know it’s there if you need it repaired or service however, one very small problem sometimes certainly exist with such warranties or extended service plans always make sure you have it in writing, and most importantly read the FINE PRINT, most extremely important, however, from a marketing point of view, no one I know, including myself, actually sits there and reads perhaps paragraphs of fine print so small you would almost need the eyes of an eagle to see it . And then decipher all the tricky ongoing wording in legal context, like most other things of this nature, they know the average consumer or most people absolutely don't read all that fine print almost nobody does , This is how a lot of folks fall victim to most credit card terms and agreements ect, Yes it works and they know it, however unfortunately not for you,

    我的DMP-A6 Master Gen 2 故障是这样的: 今天上午从机器后面的开关开电源,还能听到继电器开关的声音;下午再开后面的开关,连继电器开关的声音都没有了;上午和下午都用牙签插入后面R孔,试图重启系统都不行,我估计是电源部分坏了。在此过程中,没有爆炸或有气味的燃烧。从机器后面我也找不到保险管安装的位置。这台A6 MG2是我在2025年5月份在中国广州用网购买的,之后带来新加坡,使用不到一年,不知还有没有保修。我已联系service @zidoo.tv和service@eversolo.com. 希望能得到帮助。谢谢!

    English translation:
    My DMP-A6 Master Gen 2 has the following issue: This morning, when I turned on the power using the switch at the back of the unit, I could hear the relay click. However, this afternoon, when I tried the same switch, there was no sound from the relay at all. In both morning and afternoon, I tried to turn on the machine by pressing the front switch but It didn’t work. I also tried inserting a toothpick into the R hole at the back in an attempt to restart the system, but it didn’t work. I suspect that the problem is in the power supply section.

    During this process, there was no explosion or burning smell. I also could not locate the fuse on the back of the unit.

    I purchased this A6 MG2 in May 2025 online in Guangzhou, China, and later brought it to Singapore. It has been used for less than a year, and I am unsure whether it is still under warranty. I have contacted service@zidoo.tv and service@eversolo.com and hope to receive assistance. Thank you!
