Power-on related problems with early production DMP-A6 Gen2 units (register your case here only)

Eversolo confirmed HW issues reported with the early DMP-A6 Gen 2 units produced:
    - The unit may fail to power-on after a (short) period of use or the unit may produce nasty sounds when in standby (very few cases). All reports occurred within the warranty period and Eversolo is fully informed/aware. Cause and fix details are not revealed and most likely never will be. The only aspect well-known for sure is that it is PSU related as some claims just received a replacement PSU solving the problem that way.
    - Eversolo neither will reveal the affected serial number range(s) visible on the bottom of units nor will do replacements as a pro-active action. According Eversolo units produced in februari or before are affected. I have the feeling the number of cases is remaining relative (very) low.
Obviously a power-on PSU failure is a fatal error.

This is my contribution to wrap-up this problem with a final status plus inventory of cases. Only this top post will be moderated by me. The topic is not intended to do any discussions on the nature of the problem/fix nor the warranty approach followed by Eversolo in any way.

Eversolo reports later Gen2 units not to be affected anymore and promises to handle all cases being reported by repairs or replacements. Transport costs are included with their procedure and covered by Eversolo.
The best approach is to first contact the organization/shop you purchased the unit from as soon as possible. As a second step the manufacturer Eversolo may be contacted directly where needed.
As the MAC and serial numbers affected are well-known you may be asked to include those with your claim.

Individual cases may be reported here with:
    - Date and a short description of the action taken for the warranty claim
    - Date and follow-up steps taken
    - Adding CLOSED with date when it was handled as expected with again a full functional unit as the result.
Please don't do new posts for follow-up; just edit the original post you made instead.
This should result in a single post per case/customer, all resulting in "closed" finally when everything goes correct.

It is made a sticky remaining visible for any cases that still may come.
For above all 'the statistical value' any completed or in-process claims are kindly invited to be added here too. Repeat with a single post per case being edited when and where needed.

Status after 2 months: Looks like all cases reported are handled correctly and swift. Be assured cases reported here will be kept an eye on by Eversolo Staff. Be sure to include yours!

Issue: My Eversolo DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 suddenly stopped powering on. I tried multiple power cables and outlets, but the unit is completely unresponsive.

Action Taken: Contacted my dealer (elfc.ca in Canada) and submitted a warranty request to Eversolo After Service.

    Status: Waiting for response/instructions.

My Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 2 suddenly stopped powering on. Worked fine last night used power button to shutdown, did last upgrade previous week OTA.
Tried known good power cable off my preamp no change. Brought to another power outlet in other part of house with a 3rd known good power cable no luck (from computer). Yes I am trying to toggle power switch as well.
Removed SSD tried again. I am using both remote and main power button. Is plugged into a Panamax power conditioner and everything else is still working fine. The is also a surge protector at Electrical Panel so this is something in unit. Going to leave powered off and unplugged try again just before bringing in for service. If I don't post back assume its gone to service.
9 other devices plugged into two 20 amp dedicated circuits are all fine including computer that I left powered on in error. Luckily my preamp also has a streamer so at least not without sound. Maybe 6-7 months old one of first ones in Canada.
My dealer Distinctive Audio is responsive and will drop unit off to send back to his distributor.
Google without reading details at least 8 people with problems July 2025 and forward. depending on how many they sold its probably less then 10% which seems to be an IT norm if lucky.

Both the dealer Distinctive Audio and distributor (for Canada) would like to thank you for your response Eversolo relating to shipping.
To people new to this game even if company is at fault you the end user are on the hook for shipping in IT world. In Stereo world its dealer and distributor.

    Kind of unwritten rule.

    Hats off Eversolo.

So my original player was returned to me with updated power supply. One month - one day. Shipped 21st returned 20th.

    Still sounds great.

Though a problem I had with DAC getting detected by A6 is no longer occurring. So the DAC would beat the A6 booting making me switch inputs to get working.

I had two (A6-ME Gen 2 and an A6-Gen 2 regular) fail (would not power on; completely dead) back to back right after the Amazon warranty period expired, however, both times, I was able to convince them to make an exception, accept the return and I sent them back.

I believe the vendor was Grammaphone.

I guess I'm glutton for punishment, because I'm now the proud owner of a third Gen2 ME. I just love these things so much and everytime I have to go back to my Wiim isn't my favorite time. I tried the Play but just didn't care for it as much as my DMPs.

Hopefully I got a good one this time.

Bought my Gen 2 in January, it became unresponsive to power on efforts about a week ago. The dealer I bought it from does not have a published return policy, and doesn't have them in stock, so I contacted eversolo directly. They asked for some details, including a brief video to demonstrate that the unit didn't work, which I was more than happy to provide. I sent them the dead unit, and they are sending me a new one. I will edit this when I actually get it.

Edit: new unit arrived, all is well!

My Eversolo Gen 2 MA power supply failed last week. No matter what I try, it will not power on—it’s a complete brick. I reached out to Eversolo through their website over a week ago, but I’ve received no response.

This unit is only 4 months old. After some back and forth, Amazon agreed to take it back, but I am extremely disappointed in Eversolo. Where is the customer support? This is a $1,400 unit. Premium products should come with premium support.

If there’s a known production issue, Eversolo should be proactive and transparent in supporting customers. I’m now conflicted about whether to reorder the same unit or switch to another streamer brand. I really like the features of the Eversolo Gen 2 MA, but I don’t want to risk another defective unit—especially when there’s no published serial number information and little assurance of proper support from Eversolo.

  9. 2025/2/2: DMP-A6 gen2 purchased.
7/29: Failed overnight, on standby, becoming an inert brick. Will not power on.
8/15: Shipped for warranty service to address identified by my dealer, Audiolab.
8/19: Fixed and shipped back the same day it arrived (thanks Roger Fortier!).
8/22: Received and tested OK. Sent email to service@eversolo.com about repayment for shipping cost.
    8/24: Repayment received.

    Complete. Thank you!

Good morning, I contacted Zococity and they quickly told me they couldn't do anything due to a lack of devices (which isn't true because there are 5 listed on Amazon) and therefore I should ask for a refund.
I wrote to Eversolo to find out what to do.

Hi, the people at zococity contacted me and we are agreeing on the replacement of the unit or the shipping of the power supply.

Eversolo sent me the power supply. I think this is the best solution for fixing the device.
    I'll keep you updated.

I just received my RMA'ed A6 Master Edition Gen 2 today after the dreaded power supply replacement problem. Unfortunately, I notice a new problem:
    • When I tilt or rotate the unit (to access the NVMe slot), I can feel something slide inside and hear a distinct “thunk/click” near the power-inlet/PSU
For safety, I’m not powering it on.

    Status:
Waiting for Eversolo and Dealer response

I had posted previously but thread was archived. My solution was quick. Took it to the dealer in July (in Toronto) and it was replaced two days later with (presumably) a later version. So far so good!

September 13, device would not power on.
Device was purchased in France at launch (February 2025), so must have been among the first produced.
[Sept. 19] brought it to the store (FNAC). They sent it to their technical Service
Will bring in back to my deal er Fnac sometimes later this week and will update this thread.

How long has exactly passed since you purchased it? If it is longer than 2 years, I am sad to say your warranty period is expired...
Though... if it was purchased at the beginning of this year, after February... there is a chance you can still get a refund / free repair / substitution, if your device falls into the faulty batch everybody is talking about in the hereabouts.

I purchased an Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 2 through Amazon on May 27, 2025. on September 10th, 2025, I powered it down (using the front dial) before leaving town. I returned on the 14th of September and the unit was dead. It will not power on. I tried moving it to another stereo system, connecting it to the power cable for my original DMP-A6, and it still would not power on. I have contacted the Amazon seller (Gramophone) and Kim of Zidoo Support reached out to me. Both have been provided with the requested details for my unit.

Update (16 Sep): Gramophone (the Amazon seller) forwarded my info to Forte Distribution. This morning they (Forte Distribution) emailed me a UPS return shipping label. The defective unit is on its way to Indianapolis, Indiana and they will ship me a new unit once the "dead" one is received.

Update (19 Sep): I received a replacement DMP-A6 Gen 2 last evening courtesy of Forte Distribution. It's all set up and working properly. Issue solved, case closed.

I don't know how things go when it comes to Amazon, or other online suppliers... What does Amazon say about?
    @Zidoo Support-Kim
Can you share some details here?
Is there some other fellow member having been in the same, or similar situation, that can share some details...?
