hi all, is it possible to turn off the screensaver so it stays on the vu meters or album artwork?bit annoying when having a long listening session, the clock comes on. Thanks.
Is that only applicable when listening to Music, because it is still present in Settings —> Display—> 2nd last menu item.
The screensaver should only activate after so many minutes of inactivity - if you're listening to music the screensaver should not start.
Going deaf so I just listen to music on my iPhone these days - Phonak next month $$$$. Somehow missed the A6 reference.
I believe it does. I just test with 5 mins screensaver and it kicks in while the music is playing. I am playing it from Roon with A6 as the end point. Thanks
Will be nice if it does not kick if music is playing. I have it set as max, 2 hour. Though frankly not a big thing for me. I will just toggle the screen from my app to bring up the info/meter screen again.
I think you misunderstood my post - I meant that’s the preferred behaviour - what every other screensaver does, but it’s not how the A6 behaves - so my post was a suggestion to improve behaviour and not a statement of current behaviour.
While I understand the logic to not have the screensaver kick in while you're actively listening to music (technically it's not idle), but like its name suggests it's there to save the screen, literally. Unlike the screensaver on video players, the screen is actively changing every frame while a video is playing. But the display on the A6 will be mostly static while listening to an album or a long playlist. I think this is the reason they choose LCD over OLED but LCD displays can get screen burn too. So I think it is intentional to have the screensaver kick in during long listening hours. I don't have my A6 yet, but if I'm not mistaken you can set it up to few hours? Perhaps two different settings, one for while listening to music with hours of waiting time, and another for when it's really idle like not playing or doing anything, this can be faster like in a minute.
I noticed this as well. Plus, if you start Roon playback while the screen is already off it stays off. I would think on a device like the A6 the screen would auto turn on and stay on while music was being played from Roon or any other source. This is how it works on every streamer that I've had prior to the A6 including my Matrix Audio Element i2.
I still have the same screensaver options (5/15/30 mins & 1/2 hrs) after installing that version. Is there now supposed to be a screensaver off option? I also don't see anything regarding this in the release notes.
Hi mirror If this is referring to A6 exiting from screensaver mode when Roon starts playing a new album or track, I just test and it does not. As in prior to the update, the screen saver mode remains until I “disturb” it
