    I'll try this evening.

Just viewed these 3 episodes one after the other.

I've also noticed after the first (and 3rd) episode it was still marked as unwatched in the mod.

    Edit:
Btw, I'm on the old Z9X.

    Edit2:
@bowlingbeeg where can I upload the log? I remember you have a server for that.

In this case the sync stopped 8min before the end of the episode, but I've watched until the end.
And Plex says, I can continue playing the last 8 min.

    Edit3:
Tested with PTZ 2,7 and the 0.4.0-Mod -> same problem, sync stopped 19min before the end, so I think, the issue comes from the mod.

Does it work on 0.3.10 (not beta but standard 0.3.10)?

@bowlingbeeg , the standard 0.3.10 is simply the old zidoo code without z9x 8k support on top of the official pm4k 0.3.10 right? If so, maybe it’s a problem with pm4k?

Yes, I use these tools since several months.
No problems before the last updates.

Yes, 0.3.10 is the old code with no Z9X 8K support. I'm guessing the monitor code is bailing out early before the show ends. It's possible the zidoo player is giving back errors which were ignored before but now I have added code to end the monitoring code because that's the only way we know the video is done on the 8K line. But I need to see the logs to prove that's the case.

Ok, I think I know what the issue is. @karmu can you try this beta for me and see if it solves your issue.

    I'll try it soon.

    Edit:
@bowlingbeeg - tested with one episode and it seems to work.

Pushed a new ZidooPlexMod version 0.4.1 to address the Z9X and Z9X Pro issue. Let me know if there are anymore issues.

Apologies for asking this if it's been covered, but I've been going around in circles for hours now without really understanding what I'm doing wrong.

I have Plex running on a dedicated Windows box. I have all media on a couple of Synology NAS'.

I have the UHD8000 w/ all media mapped via NFS.

I have things configured as seen below but am also getting the error as seen below.

If the issue is NFS, I can certainly swap over.

I'll also say that I can play movies back via the Plex/ZDMC app, but I'm assuming they're not using the Zidoo HW.

Can anyone help point me in the right direction? I've DL and installed tonight per the instructions on page 1, so everything should be up to date w/ what's on github.

    Much appreciated!

When ZidooPlexMod/PlexToZidoo don't find a substitution it just passes the HTTPS stream directly to the Zidoo player. That works and plays videos just fine but won't find any of the subtitles(internal nor external). So that's why we have to mess around with all of this substitution stuff. At least that's the way it works on the Z9X and Z9X Pro models. I guess they could have fixed that on the Z9X 8K models, but I don't know since I don't have any of those models to test out.

There certainly were/are issues with NFS. Some people were able to make it work and others couldn't. Looking at your pics I see a few errors. The "Part of the path to replace" has a lower case "k" in the "4K" part. That will result in the error you're seeing. I also noticed that in the "Replaced with" value you're missing the "_" in front of the "4K". And with NFS mounts you shouldn't be specifying the actual mount location, instead you should be using the "nfs://192.168.1.11...." path. The Zidoo player is then supposed to do the mount under the covers.

Thanks for the advice, I’ll edit accordingly and report back.

Also, yes, I get subtitles currently without configuring the substitution stuff. And it works for all files in all directories (including those I haven’t yet tried to setup). So it seems to be working on the 8000. If that’s the case, do I still need to do the steps above?

Those edits seemed to work as there’s no more error.

Maybe I'm missing it, but is there a way to omit content sections from appearing at the top? Like on most Plex apps, you can pin content sections as you wish, and I have several that aren't used (by me).

Yes, press and hold the OK button on a library and then you can hide or move it.

I decided to give this another go and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong on my Z9X 8K. My Plex server is on a Windows PC and media on a Network connected 8 bay Synology NAS. I've gone through the steps, I've done the substitutions and am not getting the red banner warning, but when I play a video it tells me it failed to start the Zidoo player after a second or 2 of trying after hitting play on the debug screen. Then it just goes back to the title screen in the library. I did update my Zidoo firmware to the new release today and am on 1.1.60.

I've used the SMB shares successfully through the media manager, HT5.0 and the built in Plex, Emby & Jellyfin apps. They work fine with their path substitution options for direct play from my SMB.

I've got All 8 drives on my NAS named as PlexDrive# (1 through 8) with various folders on each. It is not a RAID setup, but rather 8 drives considered separate in the NAS. I've got my username and password plugged in to PlexToZidoo. Reading the instructions and some posts, I thought I could do the below for just one substitution. I've also tried with adding the drive number, or subsequent folders and the red banner still wasn't there, but won't play.

    \\G-NAS\PlexDrive
    smb://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/PlexDrive

Any suggestions for someone that is in about as deep as my IT knowledge goes?

Are you using the latest versions of PlexToZidoo(should be version 3.0) and ZidooPlexMod(0.4.1)? What version of ZDMC are you using? I think the version 21 still isn't working quite right so make sure you're using 20.2.

The red banner not being there just means that we were able to do the substitution, it doesn't mean that the resulting smb path is actually correct though. If you connect to the media through the Media Center app does the path look the same as what the PlexToZidoo debug screen shows you in the "Path Substitution" string?

Well, I spoke too soon it seems. I thought that no red bar meant it worked. But when trying to play items last night, nothing would actually play. Not sure what I’ve done wrong here.
