I was wondering, does the Z9x always scale to the size of the target TV I have a Marantz AVR that can scale to 4K for my 4K TV and I wondered which is doing the scaling of 1080p and SD recordings, the Zidoo or the AVR? Which is best? How can you force output from the Z9X to be the native resolution and should I want to do that? If not why not?
if you set match framerate and resolution in settings the zidoo will not do the scaling as in pass it on in original resolution.
That only seems to work for 2k and 4k. Any resolution below 1080p and the Zidoo always scales to TV target, 4k. 1080p played back at 1080p, DVD scaled to 4k So if I do that and play back a normal DVD when you press info the output mode it's 3840x2160p and it comes up on the 4k screen tiny and you have to set aspect Also when I toggle scaling on my AVR it makes no difference, it seems it arrives at 4k and the AVR does nothing It should output at standard resolution and the AVR upscale, but it isn't It did seem to work for 1080p though. That does get sent at 1080p. But DVD always get scaled by the Zidoo. If you flick through the resolutions on the remote control you can never get below 1080 Plus the annoying subtitles you can't get rid of!
